RB LEIPZIG V PSG
8pm The first Champions League sem-final takes place on Tuesday night, and not many would have called this one at the start of the season! In fairness to both teams they have been excellent and deserve their spot here. Both sides had late drama last week, with PSG needing two very late goals to beat Atalanta and RB Leipzig scoring late against Atletico Madrid.
PSG were the more impressive of the two sides and would have been incredibly unlucky to go out. They battled Atalanta winning the game 3.08 to 0.44 on xG. Whereas with RB Leipzig there was barely anything in it, and xG says a 1-1 draw would have been a fair result. They deserved to win though just for being more positive, I thought Atletico approached the game a little negatively although that is usually their way.
PSG get a huge boost for this game as it seems reasonable to suggest Mbappe will be fully fit and more than likely start the game. He came on a sub against Atalanta and impressed, and although he did rush back after an injury – PSG might be able to start him for this one. RB Leipzig are a great side, but PSG have the more impressive numbers heading into this clash and should get the job done.
PSG are a tempting bet at 1.84 but I can’t look past over 2.5 goals here at 1.69. Both sides have some excellent attacking options and they also like to play an open brand of football. PSG certainly won’t sit back and RB Leipzig are impressive on the counter attack. I can actually see more than three goals, but I’m surprise to see over 2.5 as big as 1.69.
