WEDNESDAY LA LIGA: Our football tipster The Ultra previews CELTA VIGO V OSASUNA and VALENCIA V SEVILLA both including a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CELTA VIGO V OSASUNA
6pm It’s a very busy week in Europe this week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange and the La Liga action continues on Wednesday. We have two very interesting fixtures from a betting point of view this evening, and we start with Celta Vigo hosting Osasuna. Both sides have been hanging around mid-to-low table, and while Celta Vigo aren’t far away from the relegation battle, they are far enough away not to be worried. There’s too many average teams between them and the bottom three, but at the same time they are still only six points away. It’s been a very disappointing season for Celta Vigo thus far given they managed to finish in 8th last season. They haven’t built on that and they have gone backwards. The xG table moves them up a little, but not dramatically – it actually puts both sides right beside each other, and to be honest it’s hard to see anything bar a very close game here. Both sides are more or less the same level and I was surprised to see Celta Vigo trading a shade of odds on when I clicked into the market.
I know Osasuna haven’t been on a good run lately, but they did break that with a 2-0 win over Cadiz at home recently. The main worry from an Osasuna point of view has to be their away form coming into the game – it’s been a while since they have picked up three points away from home and you have to go back to October. They have picked up plenty of draws however and given their results were positive at the start of the season, they actually have more points away from home than at home this season. Osasuna’s problem is they barely create much in their games, and they always tend to finish with an xG of under 1 which is poor. I feel they will try to grind out another draw here and although the home win is tempting, it’s hard to lay Celta when Osasuna create so little. I feel the best option here is under 2.5 goals which is trading 1.71. That price looks very appealing because Celta don’t play a massively open game, and Osasuna will more than likely have an xG of under 1 – it’s worth backing unders here.

VALENCIA V SEVILLA
8.30pm We finish Wednesday night with a cracker as Valencia host Sevilla. This is a huge game for Sevilla, and I don’t feel it’s overly dramatic to say that they need to win. Real Madrid have dropped a few points recently at the top of La Liga and now there is only five points between them. This is Sevilla’s game in hand, and a win would put them within two points. As I said a few weeks back, I don’t think Real Madrid will see Sevilla as a major threat and at the same time just competing for the title is a huge achievement for Sevilla, but getting to within two points would surely put a little pressure on Real. To do that though, they need to beat a solid Valencia side who are having a decent season. They sit in mid-table, but that’s an improvement on last season. If you recall they went through huge changes in the summer prior to last season and it’s only now starting to pay off – they were always going to struggle in the first season. They came up very short against Real Madrid recently when losing 4-1 away from home, but they have been playing some solid football and it’s hard to judge them on a Real Madrid game.
Sevilla will likely employ their usual tactics here. Start a little cagey, control the game and aim to win it in the second half. You see a lot of one goal wins from Sevilla, and they have won their last two games 1-0. This will be an interesting situation because when you look at Valencia, you see plenty of goals at either end! They obviously like to play a very open game, but they consistently concede a big xG. Although Sevilla would suggest that unders is a play here, I feel it’s too short at 1.64. Valencia like to attack, and they will also give Sevilla chances. Sevilla look nice value here at 2.54 when you consider they are so solid at the back, they will likely do a very good job of stopping Valencia while Valencia give them chances at their end. I’d have Sevilla shorter to win here, and the 2.54 is worth taking. Sevilla games tend to be a little quiet, but we could see plenty of goals here too.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Sevilla to beat Valencia at 2.54 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange!
