WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s World Cup Qualifiers between PORTUGAL V REPUBLIC OF IRELAND and DENMARK V SCOTLAND both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

PORTUGAL V REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

7.45pm The World Cup Qualifiers return on Wednesday and we have a fascinating two weeks in store. It’s fair to say most football fans don’t enjoy International breaks these days given the football has generally become boring and of course there’s a lot of drama in club football these days! The Nations League has improved the situation, and these games are massive. Tonight should be very interesting for Ireland and Scotland fans as they come up against two top teams – I say interesting, but it might also be depressing! There hasn’t been much joy for Ireland fans at all lately, and Portugal trading as short as 1.25 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange is a sign of how far they have fallen. Ireland already find themselves behind in Group A after losing away to Serbia and at home to Luxembourg.

That loss away to Serbia was to be expected given Ireland’s level in recent years, but the loss at home to Luxembourg more than likely rules out qualification for them; even at this early stage. All they can focus on is progress in their performances. The manager has a lot of League of Ireland fans behind him so he’s not under pressure, but he hasn’t improved the side since coming in and his record is pretty bad. It took until June this year for his first win, and that came against Andorra. Portugal should record a smooth win here, however Ireland are likely to be very negative with their tactics in search of a draw. That makes the goals market interesting, and I like under 2.5 goals at 2.0. Portugal have been very solid at the back in recent years, and they like to keep games tight too. They’ll have to grind out a win here against a very average Ireland side who’ll try to make the game as boring as possible. I was surprising to see unders trading 2.0 and that looks the value call here.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.0 with BETDAQ Exchange.

DENMARK V SCOTLAND

7.45pm Next we have a massive game in Group F. Scotland have improved a lot lately, and they currently sit second in the Group after everyone has played three games. These two are the only sides unbeaten. It’s obvious Denmark will top the Group – they are already four points ahead of Scotland – but anything from this game would be a huge result for the Scots. Denmark hit the headlines in Euro 2020 for what they went through in their opening game, but they had a superb run at the tournament afterwards. They created xG figures of 2.09 v Finland, 1.99 v Belgium, 2.52 v Russia, 2.96 v Wales, 1.61 v Czech Republic and then only 0.30 when they were outplayed by England – whom Scotland got a result against ironically! Scotland have come a long way over the last two years, but it’s hard to see past a Denmark win here.

Austria will have an eye on this game, because they would have been massive favourites to also qualify with Denmark but they have started the Group on the backfoot slightly with a draw against Scotland and a loss to Denmark. Scotland also grinded out a draw with Israel, whom they have played so much over the last while. I feel this game is all about levels, and Scotland just aren’t playing at the same level as Denmark. There’s a gulf in class, and home advantage does come into play in International football so it’s hard to see past a Denmark win. I’m very surprised to see Denmark trading close to 1.5 here, and I can’t resist taking the value at 1.48.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Denmark to beat Scotland at 1.48 with BETDAQ Exchange.
