CENTRE STAGE FOR BETDAQ AT KEMPTON: With the turf racing all washed out on Wednesday, all eyes will be on Kempton where there are four BETDAQ sponsored races which DAQMAN puts under the spotlight.

NO LAUGHING MATTER ON TUESDAY: But DAQMAN’s day was salvaged a little with a place return from 28/1 chance Comical Red who finished second. His nap was headed on the run-in to finish second.

And they’re off……

Not the horses, sadly, but the meetings. The turf cards at Leicester, Newcastle and Ludlow have all been washed up on Wednesday.

I don’t wish to be accused of aftertiming but perhaps, just perhaps, an all-weather meeting scheduled for a race day late in January might just have been a good idea?

However, it does mean there’ll be a lot more attention on the Kempton card where there are four races sponsored by BETDAQ – no pressure then !

5:20 £500 Free Bets At Betdaq Handicap (4yo+, Class 5, 1m 2f, 7 runners) Tom Queally had the all-time armchair ride on Tuesday (and I AM including his Frankel rides) onboard 1/80 chance Stand Guard in the two horse race at Southwell yesterday after the late withdrawal of La Estrella reduced it to (less than) a match. Queally won’t have things quite so ridiculously easy here onboard Poitin who is dropped back in trip by trainer Harry Dunlop after finishing second here last time out over 1m 4f. She still seems to be improving and can land a tricky opener off bottom weight.

6:20 Betdaq – The Sports Betting Exchange Median Auction Maiden Stakes (3-5yo, Class 5, 6f, 7 runners) There looks to be some serial maidens in here which prompts you straight away to look at the two debutants. As always, the late BETDAQ market moves will help – particularly with the Sir Mark Prescott trained Harboured who is a half-sister to two winners. Of the ones who have raced, Pool House has certainly acheived the most and came closest to recording a first success at Lingfield last time out where he failed by a neck to land the odds over the shorter five furlong trip. That was his third runner-up berth in a row and can hardly be backed with any confidence here to go one better.

6:50 Winners Are Welcome At Betdaq Handicap (4yo+, Class 4, 7f, 9 runners) This is, without doubt, the most competitive of the four BETDAQ races and it sees a re-run of the race at Lingfield over the same trip that saw Nassau Storm beat Smokethatthunders by half a length. The runner-up allowed the winner first run that day and is fancied to reverse that form with a weight pull of 2lb.

8:20 Betdaq 1st UK Race Commission Free Handicap (3yo, Class 3, 1m, 6 runners) There’s a couple of big potential improvers here in the shape of Examiner and War Of Art who were both Lingfield winners last time out. Preference is for Examiner, who beat the previous winner Jalingo last time out. Further improvement seems likely.

DAQMAN’S BETS:
BET 5pts win POITIN (5.20 Kempton)
BET 7.5pts win (nap) SMOKETHATTHUNDERS (6.50 Kempton)
BET 5pts win EXAMINER (8.20 Kempton)
