FOUR GRADE 1’s: Leopardstown stage a star-studded card on Sunday with a fantastic four Grade 1’s on the card with plenty of Cheltenham pointers likely to emerge.

A real feast of racing on Sunday with four Grade 1’s at Leopardstown run on soft to heavy ground.

The headline race is of course the Hennessy Gold Cup run at 3.50pm, but there is no runner from the Willie Mullins stable that has won the last three renewals.

Sole English raider is the remarkable Tidal Bay who is officially rated the best horse in the race.

Now a thirteen-year-old, Tidal Bay won the 2012 Lexus Chase here in sensational and trademark style, coming from off the pace and getting up on the line.

He has since run well in the Welsh National at Chepstow when third to Mountainous, beaten less than a length.

In the 2013 Lexus First Lieutenant finished second to Gold Cup winner Bobs Worth and is the proffered choice of Bryan Cooper here over the two other Gigginstown runners in the race.

First Lieutenant was only beaten a head by Tidal Bay in the 2012 Lexus but maybe able to turn the tables today.
