ROSCOMMON ON MONDAY: SHAMROCK starts his new week at Roscommon. Their mixed card gets underway at 5.10pm.
Sorry to say this but the nights are drawing in and evening racing is rapidly coming to an end.
The evening cards are starting earlier (5.10pm) but at least we have Dundalk to look forward too over the long winter months.
Roscommon stage a mixed card tonight and I like the look of the Johnny Murtagh trained Calorie in the fillies handicap at 6.10pm.
Talking of Dundalk, she won her maiden there last month and has since run well in small field races at Wexford and Cork.
The key tonight is the step up in trip which I think will be to her favour and she doesn’t look on too harsh a handicap mark at the moment (73).
She is a sporting nap to start the week on BETDAQ at around 4.1.
The biggest danger may come from the top weight Woodsophiesmile who has been plying her trade at a much higher level and didn’t run too badly at the Curragh last time out over a 1m 4f trip when fifth to Wexford Town.
