DAQMAN SUPERNAP WINS BY FIVE LENGTHS: After seven winning bets at Chester, one of Daqman’s Saturday bull’s-eye bets came within a length of the 50 points (Great Acclaim 2nd 12-1) before he landed a maximum-stakes supernap (20 points Lake Forest WON 6-5). There’s more top BETDAQ-betting action with the Dante meeting at York next week.
FRENCH GUINEAS TODAY: First there’s another Derby trial, this one at Leopardstown, and the launch of the French Classic season with their Guineas at Longchamp.
PUERTO RICO THE FIRST LEG
⭕ 2.50 Longchamp (French 2,000 Guineas) If you got used to the low draw at Chester, don’t put your slide-rule away: it’s a vital ingredient for mile races at Longchamp.
The last nine Longchamp winners of the Poulains (the French Guineas for colts) were drawn 3, 3, 2, 2, 6, 4, 7, 1, 6.
Aidan O’Brien raiders have won six times, including last year with Henri Matisse and with The Gurkha from stall 11 in 2016, but that season the race was run at Deauville.
O’Brien today has Dorset (Christophe Soumillon, gate 3) and Puerto Rico (Ryan Moore, from 7) who seems set for the first leg of a Ballydoyle Classic double this afternoon.
Dorset forced the pace in a Leopardstown Group 3 last month, presumably to set up stablemates Flushing Meadows, Trojan Warrior and Warsaw but no Ballydoyle runner finished in the frame, including Dorset!
Puerto Rico won the top French 2yo test here at Longchamp, the Lagardere at the Arc meeting, with Nighttime runner-up and the favourite Rayif, a well-beaten third but running on well.
Rayif (stall 1 under Mickael Barzalona) leads the home defence today for Francis-Henri Graffard, handler of world champion Calandagan and with 60 winners already in 2026.
Segall, winner of the Prix La Force trial here for Andre Fabre last month, has a tough draw in 12. Nighttime (in 13) split Komorebi and Elastic in the Prix de Fontainebleau on good ground.
Soft ground will boost Karl Burke’s Hankelow (stall 5). At Newmarket in the autumn, he beat Al Zanati, Godolphin’s runner-up in the Sandown Classic Trial last month.
DIAMOND GETS DRAW BOOST
⭕ 3.25 Longchamp (French 1,000 Guineas) Aidan O’Brien’s Diamond Necklace (Ryan Moore from gate 3 today) won the Marcel Boussac, the fillies’ equivalent of Puerto Rico’s Lagardere.
She beat Green Spirit (stall 1 that day; poor draw in 14 now) and the hampered Narissa (stall 6 then, now in 9) but they take her on again.
Narissa is bidding for a Pouliches hat-trick in this Classic for Francis-Henri Graffard under Michael Barzalona.
Karl Burke has booked William Buick for his Miesque winner, Half Sovereign (stall 2 today), and Billy Loughnane rides Kevin Ryan’s Isle Of Fernandez (gate 8).
Isle Of Fernandez was a well-beaten third in the Imprudence trial at Deauville to Showna (who comes out of the one stall today). Oisin Murphy rides the Crisfords Group-2 Rockfel winner, Zanthos, out of stall 11.
IT’S ENDORSEMENT’S DAY
⭕ 3.40 Leopardstown Pierre Bonnard readily beat Endorsement at Newmarket in October but was six lengths off that one at the line when flopping in the Ballysax won by Christmas Day last month.
Shaihaan, runner-up to Pierre Bonnard last August, and trounced six lengths by Hawk Mountain in the Beresford, looked much more the completed article as he launched the new season at the Curragh in March.
Endorsement, who began his career with second to Derby favourite Benvenuto Cellini, has cheekpieces to help him hold off Pierre Bonnard again.
ZUCAYAN SHOWS ZIP HERE
⭕ 4.02 Ludlow Big at BETDAQ 7.4 this morning, Zucayan has won this race twice among four CD wins here at Ludlow and may be too good for Pergamon, 22-1 winner of a very slow run race at Huntingdon.
Soleil d’Arizona has won twice on her local track at Warwick but has finished last twice and pulled up once in four starts this year at no-hoper odds ranging from 28-1 to 150-1.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
