WEST HAM V ARSENAL

4.30pm We have an absolutely monstrous Super Sunday fixture from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week! West Ham host Arsenal at the London Stadium – this is genuinely one of the biggest Premier League fixtures of the entire season for completely different reasons at both ends of the table! Arsenal come into Sunday still buzzing from a sensational midweek as Saka’s decisive goal saw them beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Emirates to progress to the Champions League Final, but there’s still the small matter of the Premier League title race. City slipping up against Everton has handed Arsenal the advantage, and you’d have to say that – on paper at least – this is their toughest fixture left this season.

West Ham are fighting for their lives in the relegation battle. Back-to-back wins for Spurs leaves the Hammers coming into the weekend sitting in the relegation zone – obviously Spurs benefitted from playing Aston Villa last weekend in between their Europa League Semi-Final, but a 3-0 hammering at Brentford last time out was a hammer blow to their survival hopes. West Ham have not beaten Arsenal at the London Stadium since January 2019, and this is about as difficult a fixture as you could possibly face when your backs are against the wall. From a West Ham point of view, even a draw here would be a cracking result all things considered so it’s hard to see them attacking too much, and they’ll be hoping that Arsenal crumble under the pressure of the title race.

You have to say that this is the most intriguing game of the weekend! Hopefully Manchester City win on Saturday to add extra spice too. It’s no surprise to see Arsenal come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.63 with West Ham 5.8 and the draw is 4.5 at the time of writing. . The mood around Arsenal seems completely different to a few weeks ago when the wheels looked like they might be coming off. Manchester City’s failure to beat Everton was an obvious boost; then Arsenal handled the pressure nicely midweek in the Champions League. The performance levels show a massive gulf in class between the sides here, and it’s hard to get away from Arsenal at 1.65. Their average xG created of 1.70 is impressive, even though it is “only” the fourth best attacking figure in the Premier League, and their xG conceded of 0.96 is the best defensive figure. They have been rock solid at the back.

West Ham’s numbers tell the story of a side in serious trouble. Their average xG created of 1.20 is the joint-third worst attacking figure in the Premier League, and their xG conceded of 1.74 is the second worst defensive figure. Basically, they haven’t got the tools to hurt this Arsenal side going forward, and quite we know Arteta is always cagey – you just know this West Ham side will give Arsenal chances. I feel West Ham are the ideal side for Arsenal to face at the moment, Arsenal tick all the boxes here and at 1.63, I feel we’re getting enough value for a Five Star NAP as Arsenal put two hands on the title here.
