JUMPS STEPS UP A GEAR AT GOWRAN PARK: The Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase is the highlight on the jumping card at Gowran Park this afternoon and Sizing Europe bids for a remarkable fourth successive victory.
A good run from the nap yesterday. Unfortunately not quite good enough though. Prince Of Hall was beaten half a length in the Group 3 Diamond Stakes.
A good jumping card at Gowran Park where the highlight is the PWC Champion Chase at 4.45.
The remarkable and popular Sizing Europe bids for a fourth success win in the race and again makes his seasonal reappearance in his ‘own’ race.
The fact he is here is a big surprise in itself given connections strongly considered retirement for him after he won the Punchestown Champion Chase for a second time in April.
He now has a new rider who is only just a bit older than him !!! 18-year-old Johnny Burke has the ride on the star chaser.
It’s race to watch and hopefully cheer the old boy to win number four in the race.
For the nap I’m relying on the Gordon Elliott trained Credulous in the opener. He is just preferred to Aidan O’Brien’s Lone Star who is beginning to look a little exposed.
