PREVIEW

Queens Park Rangers fans will barely recognise their team when it steps onto the pitch at Loftus Road tonight. The new arrivals assembled by Neil Warnock should put the club in much better shape to deal with the demands of the Premier League, but they will need some time to gel and a number of the recruits are short of match practice.

Joey Barton will attract the lion’s share of attention tonight after swapping Newcastle for West London and he’ll be desperate to prove that he made the right choice. However, the Magpies look the better value in the outright market after the flying start they’ve enjoyed.

Alan Pardew has steered his team to two wins and a draw in their opening three contests, with their away match in that spell being a 1-0 victory at Sunderland. It has been far tougher going for Warnock’s troops who, although they secured three points at Goodison Park, were beaten 2-0 at Wigan last time out and played off the park by Bolton when losing the first match of the season 4-0 at home.

Man-for-man the Toon are a stronger team and have what it takes to claim the victory. They have won on their last visit to Loftus Road in the Championship the year before last and are an attractive proposition at 3.1 on BETDAQ.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Newcastle at around 3.1: 3 points
Sunday’s Return: +10.20 points
