BETDAQ’S Emmet Ryan returns to Betdaqtips this weekend to preview the Premier League matches following on from the International Break. He concentrates on Saturday’s big match up between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates.
EPL betting returns after a whole week off with a big one at the Emirates. Arsenal really can’t catch a break when it comes to public opinion. Punter opinion is another matter entirely as save for the mandatory flop or three per season, they are tremendously reliable for bettors. Saturday’s clash with Man Utd however gives legitimate pause for thought.
The draw at 3.6 is awfully tempting but this is not a game where sitting on the fence is the smart bet. In Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal have finally found a player who can retain his world class form even after donning a Gunners shirt. While United’s attacking threat merits more headlines, the Chilean leads an Arsenal side which has plenty of ways to hurt opponents. He is certainly worth a look for firsr goalscorer.
Soft centres are the more important story here with neither side winning over punters with their defences. Much as Arsenal’s problems are well known, there’s a clear edge in quality for the North London club at the back. Throw in home advantage and the prospect of a miserable evening, and taking Arsenal at 2.2 looks the smartest bet on the board.

The biggest over-achievers per the eyeball test, although not the stats, Swansea face a tough challenge away to Man City on Saturday afternoon. The Swans may sit pretty in fifth spot but they haven’t won away from home since beating United on the opening weekend. City, naturally, are heavy favourites, and the market to look at here is Half time/Full time where Man City/Man City is safe enough looking at 2.2 but I’d take a punt on a slow start for the home team with Draw/Man City at 4.6.

Liverpool travel to Crystal Palace at a time when the market seems to have full adapted to the new reality for Brendan Rodgers’ charges. The potential for over-caution could have made an away win attractive here but bettors have seen enough to know the Merseysiders deserve to be solid if not overwhelming favourites. The market to look at here before kick off is Total Goals with the Over/Under set at 2.5. The over, at 2, looks the smart play here and that can set you up nicely for some in-running action especially if Palace manage to get on the board early.
