MIDWEEK ACTION: Chelsea can put one hand on the EPL trophy tonight while Europe is host to some crucial games in the race for the Champions League. Let’s pick some winners.
It was not a special Sunday for Chelsea but it was a Super Sunday for Betdaq punters as the draw delivered big as predicted by Tipster HQ. Now Jose Mourinho looks to carry his men over the line as they finally edge nearer to claiming the EPL title. Chelsea can’t lift the trophy tonight but they can make it possible the title race ends this weekend. Tonight they take on a Leicester side that is dangerous because of its precarious position on the edge of the relegation zone. The Foxes will fight like, well, really angry foxes for survival and even a point tonight would be huge for them.
Leicester may have pluck but they don’t have the wealth of quality at Chelsea’s disposal. I don’t expect a pretty game and I don’t expect Mourinho’s men to run riot but I do expect them to be all business tonight. There’s a championship to be won and they want to raise that trophy soon. I’m taking Chelsea at 1.8 to win tonight.
La Liga’s battle for European berths hots up tonight as Villarreal host Atletico Madrid. The home side is out of the running for the Champions League but it can effectively lock up a place in the Europa League with a win tonight. Atletico however head into this one with third place to defend and with it an automatic place in the group stages of next season’s Champions League. The reigning La Liga champions don’t want to give Valencia cause for hope as the season comes to a close. I’m backing an away win here. Bet on Atletico at 2.24 to win.
The Serie A title could be decided tonight but Juventus will have to beat bitter rivals Fiorentina and hope for help elsewhere to do it. If Lazio fail to beat Parma, admittedly wildly unlikely, and Juve beat Fiorentina then the Turin giants will claim the championship yet again. The important business for Juventus however is getting through this game in one piece before their Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid. I expect the reigning champions to play tight tonight so the smart play is to expect them to finish this off in the second-half. I see tremendous value in the Half-time/Full-time where I’m taking Draw/Juventus at 4.7.
