TINGLE CREEK: No Irish racing today but mouth-watering action to look forward to on Saturday with the Tingle Creek at Sandown Park and the likely reappearance of last season’s top novice Un De Sceaux.
A real pre-Christmas treat to look forward to on Saturday with the Tingle Creek at Sandown Park.
The race has attracted 10 entries at the five-day stage with Irish raider Un De Sceaux heading the Ladbrokes ante-post market:
Un De Sceaux 4/7
Vibrato Valtat 7/2
Simonsig 6/1
Sire De Grugy 10/1
Special Tiara 16/1
Josses Hill 20/1
Somersby 20/1
Savello 25/1
Mr Mole 25/1
Third Intention 50/1
This surely looks at the mercy of the Willie Mullins trained Un De Sceaux who is already a hot favourite for the Champion Chase (2.62 BETDAQ).
His only career defeat in 10 starts came at Thurles on his chasing debut when he fell three out with the race at his mercy.
He went on to win four races over fences including impressive wins in the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and he finished the campaign with a win in the Ryanair Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival having gone off a 1/10 chance !!
Saturday’s race also has Irish interest with the Henry de Bromhead trained Special Tiara who finished a disappointing last of four finishers in the Fortria Chase at Navan last month but is a course and distance winner at Sandown.
2012 winner Sprinter Sacre misses the race but Nicky Henderson could still present the biggest challenge to Un De Sceaux with his duo of Simonsig and Josses Hill.
