DERBY DOUBLE WEEK As soon as the draw is known, Daqman presents the stats for two Derbys, Sunday’s Prix du Jockey Club (below), and the Epsom Derby tomorrow week, with declarations on Tuesday.
FRENCH DERBY DRAW VITAL
⭕ 3.30 Chantilly, Sunday (French Derby) Classic Clues: A: with one exception, single-figure stalls have won since 2014 and B: with one exception, the winner had already scored during that season.
AB Dolmalan has won twice over this Derby course and distance, improving each time but Mickael Barzalona is likely to ride the Aga Khan Stud’s first string, Daryzan, despite his being drawn in 10.
AB Gostam Unbeaten 4-4 for Andreas Wohler, including the German Group-2 Bavarian Classic, and Billy Loughnane takes over from Eduardo Petroza.
AB Komorebi Godolphin have found an appropriate name for the son of the Street Cry mare called Lyric Of Light.
Komorebi, who finished well when second in the French 2,000 Guineas, is Japanese for ‘sunlight filtering through the trees.’
AB Oxagon Craven Stakes winner who didn’t get into his stride in the Guineas and can do better under Oisin Murphy on Sunday, out of the shadow of Bow Echo and Gstaad, the one-two at Newmarket.
AB Pearled Majesty Despite making virtually all, he completed his hat trick by sprinting away from a Group-3 field over the Prix du Jockey Club trip at Longchamp last month.
BEST CHANCE OF A DOUBLE
⭕ 4.23 Brighton, today Jim and Suzi Best, currently 2-4 including My Boy Harry’s easy win at Lingfield 10 days ago, have Luke Morris booked again at Betdaq Betting Exchange 5.3 this morning in a bid to follow up with the same horse under a 5lb penalty.
Kondratiev Wave (1-17 rated below 60), Dion Baker (0-20 since last win) and Zu Run (0-12 in last year) are all CD winners, dangerous because down the handicap but off-putting because they have shared literally dozens of chances to break back.
Team Best could be off to a good start with Terry O (2.50), also ridden by Luke Morris. Beat Sayidah Ardad at Bath and caught the eye at Windsor the last day.
MURPHY HAS THEM AT BAY
⭕ 7.50 Wolverhampton Oisin Murphy shows a near-40 profit to single unit stakes on Hugo Palmer’s runners and, with the stable in form, Enamorus drops down the grades from class 2 (third twice) and class 3 (runner-up at Ascot) to make her handicap debut.
⭕ 9.00 Wolverhampton In French Derby week, here’s a son of the last winner to defy a double-figure draw in the Chantilly Classic.
Mythical Bay (by New Bay) is related to Group winners on the dam’s side, and she is daughter of another French Derby winner, Lope De Vega.
What also attracts me to Mythical Bay is the winning combo of trainer Andrew Balding and jockey Oisin Murphy.
Mythical Bay is versatile as a winner here over 9.5f but close second over today’s 1m 4f at Chester (holds the third, Galilean Quality).

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
