SHAMROCK AT DUNDALK: A clear cut NAP running at Dundalk tonight. Gowran Park doubts for tomorrow’s card.
More weather woes sadly.
Gowran Park will inspect at 3pm this afternoon ahead of their meeting tomorrow.
The going at the track is already heavy but raceable, but there has been snow in County Kilkenny this morning.
Melting snow on already heavy going is likely to leave conditions very wet indeed and officials will know more this afternoon.
Seven races under floodlights at Dundalk tonight and whilst the 7.30 maiden has only attracted four runners it looks an interesting match between the Sir Mark Prescott trained Bear Faced and Jim Bolgers’s Clear Cut who has been off the track for 126 days.
Clear Cut might be the better horse and this is reflected in the BETDAQ market 1.8 v 2.2. He was only narrowly beaten at Newmarket on his final start of last season – beaten a short head by outsider Chelsea Lad.
Bear Faced won his maiden at Lingfield despite being carried very wide on the turn for home but then could only finish third of five at Wolverhampton on his handicap debut.
Al level weights I’d prefer Clear Cut – but in receipt of 3lb I think he’s a good bet and the SHAMROCK nap of the day.
