2 OUT OF 3 ON TUESDAY: SHAMROCK ended Fairyhouse on a high and now turns his attention to the card at Downpatrick on Wednesday.
It was a case of two out of three being “ain’t bad” yesterday but the bravery of opposing an odds-on shot with the nap proved folly at Fairyhouse.
The next best was landed with TOP GAMBLE (also DAQMAN’s BANKER) and the LAY came up JUST when SOME NECK was beaten a half length in the finale. Beaten a neck would have made a better headline !!

Downpatrick stage a six race card this afternoon which gets underway at 2.55pm.
Buyer Beware is a speculative nap of the day. That might sound an odd thing to say about a 3.4 favourite on BETDAQ but we have to take a fair amount on trust and it’s a card where not too many stand out.
Buyer Beware is having his first start for Gordon Elliott having previously been with Jessica Harrington. He won on debut on the flat and shaped well enough on his hurdling debut at Thurles when second to the odds-on La Vagabond (who went on to finish third in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse). It was good to firm that day and good to yielding today so we have to trust that won’t inconvenience much and we also have to trust that the switch of stable has been a positive. He does have plenty of potential though and this is a race of largely exposed sorts.
Main danger for me is Canadian Steel who has shown promise in bumpers.
