TRIPLE ROYAL ASCOT NAPS: SHAMROCK landed his third winning NAP of Royal Ascot NAP with CHURCHILL who was backed off the boards to 8/11 in yesterday’s opener. It’s now 14 WINNING NAPS FROM THE LAST 24 !!!

HATS OFF!! Three naps up for SHAMROCK during Royal Ascot.  Tuesday’s NAP CARAVAGGIO won the Coventry Stakes at 13/8, SHAMROCK followed up with ORDER OF ST GEORGE who overcame trouble in running to win the Gold Cup at 10/11 and CHURCHILL obliged at 8/11 yesterday.

Not surprisingly, today’s offering has a rather more modest look about it and I can’t blame DAQMAN for heading to France in search of a best bet.

I’m staying at home for the eight race card at Gowran Park, run on expected yielding ground.

The final race at 5.45 has attracted a field of five and the three market principals are all attempting to bounce back after disappointing efforts in better company last time.

Dermot Weld’s Ashraf went off a solid favourite (11/4, but in context of the race) for the 22 runner Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh but failed to beat a single horse home.

Jim Bolger’s Round Two only beat a 40/1 shot home in a Listed race at the Curragh which leaves Aidan O’Brien’s Bravery who himself was well beaten in the French Derby but the ground was treacherous and he had previously finished an excellent fourth to Awtaad in the Irish 2000 Guineas – the form for which was of course rubber-stamped by the runner-up Galileo Gold’s win in the St James’s Palace Stakes earlier this week.
