AT LAST THE ‘KYLLA’ PUNCH: Daqman was stuck with seconditis yesterday (form figures 3222) until landing Kylla Instinct (WON 11-4) at Wolverhampton last night. His nap today runs at Bath.

DAQ MULTIPLES: Daqman combines today’s three selections in doubles and a treble on BETDAQ MULTIPLES.

DARK FILLY DUE OUT SOON: Daqman has a dark horse – a filly actually – in his top seven two-year-olds to follow for York and The Curragh dates in the next few weeks. Unraced, so must run shortly.

DAQMAN’S LUCKY SEVEN TWO-YEAR-OLDS

Boynton The resurgence of Godolphin has much to do with the burgeoning Newmarket yard of Charlie Appleby, who has landed eight Group races this year, including the Eclipse and, not least for future operations, the Superlative Stakes on Saturday with Boynton.

The American-bred seemed to have been overtaken by the Ballydoyle War Front colt, War Decree, the even-money favourite, but smoothly led again, the pair going clear.

Entered in the Gimcrack Stakes at York on August 20. All those below have big two-year-old trial tests, too.

Caravaggio American through and through yet has won his races with cut in the ground. By Scat Daddy, who also has Lady Aurelia in the list.

Has landed a hat-trick including the Marble Hill Stakes at The Curragh and the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot from subsequent July Stakes winner, Mehmas.

Entered in the Phoenix Stakes at The Curragh on August 7 and the Gimcrack Stakes at York on August 20, but quoted by bookmakers for the Nunthorpe Stakes on August 19.

Churchill Galileo colt owned by The Lads (Tabor, Smith, Magnier) and trained, of course, by Aidan O’Brien, very much in the Ballydoyle mould.

Won the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot from winner since Isomer. The third and fourth, Cunco and Mr Scaramanga, were further behind Boynton at Newmarket but on different ground.

Entered in the Phoenix Stakes at The Curragh (August 7) and the National Stakes at The Curragh (September 11)

Endless Charm If Boynton is his top colt of the moment, Charlie Appleby may have a top filly in Endless Charm, a ‘dark’ Dubawi, yet to race but sure to try to get in a prep shortly for the Lowther Stakes at York on August 18. Above average work at Newmarket.

Gulliver I’m told that Hugo Palmer’s twice-raced son of Sayif, half-brother to a 1,000 Guineas runner-up, has been brought along slowly with a star northern sales race in mind.

Entered in the Weatherbys Hamilton £300,000 2yo Stakes at Doncaster on September 8 and the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy on October 1.

Lady Aurelia The sensation of Royal Ascot for Wesley Ward who gets some fast animals but this Scat Daddy filly flew up the straight seven lengths clear of 16 others.

Some 10 lengths behind was Clem Fandango, whose Hilary Needler second to Grizzel puts him 16 lengths off the Albany Stakes winner, Brave Anna. So is the Lady Aurelia form all it is cracked up to be?

Has entries in the Phoenix Stakes and the Lowther Stakes but quoted by bookmakers for the Nunthorpe Stakes (see dates above).

Roly Poly Brave Anna’s defeat of Bletchley in the Albany Stakes looked good but Bletchley was only sixth in the Cherry Hinton (now renamed the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes) at the Newmarket July meeting.

The winner was Roly Poly, a daughter of War Front out of a Galileo mare, owned by The Lads and trained of course by Aidan O’Brien.

Entered up in ‘everything’: Phoenix Stakes, Lowther Stakes, Weatherbys Hamilton £300,000 2yo Stakes and Moyglare Stud Stakes (The Curragh September 11).

GO ON AND GET ON FREE TO LOVE

I wonder whether the sponsors of the Hall’s Dismantling And Removal Ltd Fillies’ Handicap at Bath this afternoon might be otherwise engaged at number 10 Downing Street today?

The race does however throw up the best bet of the day for me with top weight Free To Love. The Charlie Hills trained runner was a close second to my headline pick last week Go On Go On Go On (editor: please check enough Go On’s !!).

The extra distance this afternoon should suit (she’s a course and distance winner) and at her best when bouncing out from the front. She also gets the firm in the going description which she seems to perform best on.

The George Baker trained Nag’s Wag won here on debut but isn’t always the quickest away from the stalls and the hope must be that Free To Love will build up a big enough lead to hold on.

ST MICHEL FOR SIR MARK

The long distance handicap makes most appeal on the Beverley card.

The Sir Mark Prescott trained St Michel will be a warm order for 4.00, run over 2m and 35 yards.

This is his first try over this trip but it should suit the son of Sea The Stars. He was a beaten favourite at Bath last time out when runner-up to Emperor Napoleon but had previously won well over 1m 6f at Chelmsford.

He takes on older horses for the first time but should prove too strong for this field. The biggest danger may come from Tapis Libra who is penalised for his win in the Ladies’ Derby Handicap at Epsom last time out.

BALLET TO BOOST TRAINER’S THIRSK RECORD

Sir Michael Stoute has an excellent record at Thirsk and he should land the opener with Ballet Concerto.

She was well beaten at Windsor last time out but we should witness a completely different performance on this better ground and shorter trip.

Sehayli was bitterly disappointing at Beverley last time out when well beaten into third after going off at 8/11. He is probably still the biggest danger though on the strength of his earlier efforts at Lingfield and Chester.
