Fortune favoured the brave at Thurles yesterday. I decided to side with experience over the promise of two debutants and it paid off with a 3/1 WINNING NAP when Woods Well won the closing bumper by four lengths.
Friday night means one thing. Eight races with big fields at Dundalk.
The handicaps on the card look impossible so I’m heading for the fillies maiden at 7.30pm.
There are sound reasons for forgiving Dreamy Gal for her poor run at Gowran last time out. She ran freely and a mile on soft ground simply proved beyond her.
She had previously run really well over course and distance here when runner-up to Winter and was well supported in the market that day.
A reproduction of that effort could easily be good enough here. She looks the pick of those with form and none of the debutants have been particularly well supported in the early BETDAQ market.
