THURSDAY EUROPA LEAGUE: It’s a Europa League Thursday and we preview Gent v Spurs at 6pm and Man U v St Etienne at 8.05pm with recommended BETDAQ bets.
GENT V TOTTENHAM
6pm After a bitterly disappointing Champions League Group stage for Spurs, they find themselves in the Europa League knockout stages against Gent. Gent are having a pretty poor season, they currently sit down in 8th position in the Belgian league – however they do have a very strong home record – which has to be a factor before backing Spurs at 1.87. Gent have played 13 games at home in their league this season and only conceded eight goals – so don’t expect plenty of goals from Spurs here! Gent also beat Valencia at home in the Champions League last season, so they are no strangers to decent home results in Europe either.
We feel that this leg will have a quiet start, as Spurs look to feel their way into the game. And they will surely be aware of Gent’s woeful away record too – they’ve only won once from their 13 away games in Belgium this season. So a low scorer, “job done” type situation will suit Spurs here, and we feel that under 2.5 goals is the play at 1.87. There’s no doubting that Spurs are a good few levels above Gent, however Gent are strong at home so we feel there’s way more value in unders than the Spurs win at the same price.

MANCHESTER UNITED V ST ETIENNE
8.05pm After comfortably beating Watford at Old Trafford last weekend, Manchester United are now unbeaten in their last 19 games at home in all competitions. We seen three easy wins for United at home in the Group stages, and it’s highly likely we’ll see another easy win here, however they are currently trading around 1.34 and you wont get rich quick backing that.
An interesting angle could be the United clean sheet market (Both Teams To Score). United haven’t conceded in their last four games in all competitions, and they’ve played six games at Old Trafford in 2017 and only conceded once. Looking at St Etienne away from home too, they don’t appear to enjoy playing away and haven’t got the best of records. However, Both Teams To Score – No is trading at 1.68, which is fair value, but we prefer United on the handicap, They’re currently trading 1.99 -1.5 goals and that looks a nice price.
