CASCARINO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW: Tony Cascarino gives his tips for Matchday Two of the Champions League
Tony’s Back:
First up obviously PSG playing Bayern Munich is a top quality game. Are Bayern quite as good as what they once were? I would say no. I think Ancelotti is finding it very difficult to get the side he once had. I think with PSG there’s no doubt they have improved enormously on what they’ve got with the forwards – Mbappe, obviously Neymar, and Cavani, and they’re a good defensive side. This is the team that beat Barcelona 4-0 last season in Paris, and being in Paris I would say that PSG can win. They’re even money at around 2.0 so I would back them.
Tony’s Top Tip:
Back PSG @ 2.0

Tony’s Lay:
I’m going to lay Real Madrid. Under normal circumstances Real Madrid can win anywhere, they’ve got quality throughout, but it’s been a mixed start to the season. They’ve had Ronaldo suspended, a number of injuries and for me Zinedine Zidane has not quite found his team that matches what they were last year. I think they’ll get back to it I just don’t think they’re there right now. They’re up against Dortmund, a really aggressive team, who score goals for fun. Aubameyang will cause problems for many teams in the Champions League and is always good for a goal. Any punter who wants to pick a goalscorer, Aubameyang is lightening quick and would be a good bet. So I’d lay Real at 2.44, as I think it’s a really good price and I think Real have a tough job on their hands. I suspect Dortmund will get something out of this game.
Tony’s Lay of the Week:
Lay Real Madrid @ 2.44

Tony’s Top Tip:
My third and final tip has to be Atlético Madrid vs Chelsea. We’re looking for really good bets and I never ever really go for the draw but I cannot see anything to choose between these teams. The way they both play, and looking at the managers, they will be delighted if they get something out of this game. And that’s why at a price of 3.25 I think the draw is the standout bet. These two will not want to get beat by each other. They will get through this group and qualify so I don’t think they’ll want to hand the initiative to any other team in this group. I think it’s vitally important that they give nothing away and I think both managers will do that. They’re both very good sides and I think they’ll get a draw. A draw at over 2/1 to me, at 3.25 on the exchange, is really good value. Normally I stay away from the draws but in this game I can only see one result.
Tony’s Top Tip:
Back the draw Atlético Madrid v Chelsea @ 3.25
