EUROPA LEAGUE THURSDAY: We preview tonight’s Europa League games between CRVENA ZVEZDA v ARSENAL and EVERTON v LYON with a recommended BETDAQ bet in each game.
CRVENA ZVEZDA V ARSENAL
6pm For the betting markets purposes, the home team are called Crvena Zvezda however most of you will know them as Red Star Belgrade. You may remember them from a couple of years ago, as this is the first time they’ve made the main draw in Europe since 2007/08. With that in mind, you’d obviously know that Arsenal are a vast number of levels ahead of them class wise. The tough decision is, can we commit to backing Arsenal away from home? As we have noted already this season, we almost have two Arsenal sides this year – the one at home and the one away – the one away lost to Watford at the weekend from 1-0 up and although they will probably outclass this side, we cannot back them at odds on. They are currently trading 1.89, and considering that Wenger has played some of his fringe players in their opening two Europa League games and is highly likely to do the same again, it’s worth laying Arsenal here from a value point of view.

EVERTON V LYON
8.05pm Things started so brightly at the start of the season when qualifying for this competition for Everton, and now as they sit down in 16th place in the Premier League things feel a bit gloomy around Goodison Park. They spent so much money in the summer, maybe things are getting twitchy for Koeman. They are without a win in their last three, and while they did play some big teams at the start of the season to start their poor run of results – the last three came against Limassol, Burnley and Brighton, teams they are expected to beat. It’s a tight market, with Everton 2.68, Lyon 2.84 and the draw 3.55 at the time of writing. With the way Everton are playing at the moment, it’s hard to get away from laying them at 2.68 – the only team to beat Lyon in their last six was PSG, and they beat Monaco 3-2 at the weekend. With Everton struggling, the 2.68 lay really appeals.
