WORLD CUP PLAYOFF: We preview Tuesday’s second leg game between REPUBLIC OF IRELAND v DENMARK with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND V DENMARK
7.45pm Will this game be any more interesting than Saturday night? It couldn’t be worse, you might say! Denmark probably had the best chances, but there weren’t many and it was a pretty boring 0-0 in the end. Someone will have to go for it, however based on watching the first leg, we can expect another very cagey affair.
Denmark are favourites to win in 90 minutes, with the match odds at the time of writing; Ireland 3.15, Denmark 2.8 and the draw is 3.0. Of course, the away goals rule will be right at the front of Ireland’s mind now considering that they don’t score many – a Denmark goal would be massive – and they’re currently 1.7 to qualify, with Ireland 2.4.
The stats say that Denmark will have their work cut out to find the Irish net, with Ireland keeping six clean sheets in their last eight qualifying games at home – Ireland are always very organized, however will they be able to find a goal themselves? Under 2.5 goals is only 1.43, while 0-0 is only 6.4 – it’s been a while since we seen 0-0 start so short!
We feel that Ireland will set up very defensively to begin with here, and possibly ‘go for it’ more as the game goes on in front of their home fans. It’s very hard to see many chances here though, and it’s hard to see value in either side winning. With under 2.5 goals and 0-0 so short, it seems that the best bet here is a draw at 3.0. It might just be a 1-1 that sends Denmark to the World Cup.
