LEAGUE CUP: We preview Tuesday’s League Cup game between MAN CITY v BRISTOL CITY.
MANCHESTER CITY V BRISTOL CITY
7.45pm Bristol City shocked Manchester United in the last round, but they have little chance of getting past Manchester City over two legs now. The markets agree, with City only trading 1.04 To Qualify, and only 1.15 to win in 90 minutes tonight. If you fancied a huge shock in the first leg, Bristol are currently 28.0, while the draw is 10.0.
It’s almost impossible to see anything other than a Manchester City win here. After being held to a 0-0 draw away to Crystal Palace to end their record winning run in the Premier League, they have had two games at home and scored seven goals. It might offer some hope to Bristol that they have conceded in both games against Watford and Burnley, but surely City will score more than once here.
Since shocking Manchester United, Bristol have only won once in five games – they’ve lost three and drawn the other game. Perhaps they have been focusing on the cup, however there was no reason why they would have gone into the FA Cup game against Watford with one eye on this tie, and they lost 3-0. Having conceded eight goals in their last two, this is a dangerous place to come!
Bristol are highly likely to come here to defend and hopefully get back to their home ground within a goal or two and have a go at City there. However, with City in goal scoring form and having home advantage, we feel that they can score plenty here. Any Other Home Win (City to score four or more and win) is currently trading 2.44 in the record score market and that looks good value.
