LEAGUE CUP: We preview Wednesday’s League Cup semi-final between CHELSEA v ARSENAL with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

8pm What a great Cup semi-final this is going to be and hopefully both legs are as entertaining as when these two met recently in the Premier League! It finished 2-2 on that occasion, but it could have easily finished 5-5 and was wonderful to watch. However, given that this semi-final is over two legs it’s likely that we could see a pretty cagey affair to start with here – teams tend not to be so attacking in the first leg of any tie these days, and perhaps we’ll have wait to until the second leg to see plenty of goals again.
Arsenal arrive here off the back of a very embarrassing FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest at the weekend. That brings their away record domestically this season to only two wins from 15 games – no wonder Chelsea are odds on. At the time of writing, Chelsea are 1.75, Arsenal 5.3 and the draw is 4.1. Arsenal have tended to surprise plenty of people with a shock result after a terrible performance and while they could do that tonight, it’s desperately hard to back them away from home at the moment.
Over 2.5 goals is currently the same price as the Chelsea win, so that could prove to be a difficult choice for many punters. We feel though that there is more value in the Chelsea win compared to over 2.5 goals given that it’s a first leg. Chelsea are unbeaten in their last six home games against their London rivals, winning five of these games. They can keep that good record going here with another win.
