IMAGINING TO START SEASON WITH A WIN: SHAMROCK looks ahead to this afternoon’s 4.30pm at Cork with the emphasis very much on quality rather than quantity.

Just the three runners go to post for this afternoon’s 4.30 at Cork but it brings together two useful colts.

Preference has to be Imaging over his Joseph O’Brien trained rivals. Imaging is entered up in next week’s Gladness Stakes at Naas and should pick up where he left off last season. He was a very easy winner on heavy ground at Limerick when last seen and should be seen to even better effect over longer trips this season.

Escamillo was also an easy winner on heavy ground – over a mile at Navan – although it didn’t look the strongest race.

The filly Ship Of Dreams won at Dundalk but was found wanting in class when returning to the track and finishing last of six in a Listed race. There’s every chance she will bump into one (or even two) here.
