WORLD CUP: We preview Friday’s three World Cup games between BRAZIL v COSTA RICA, NIGERIA v ICELAND and SERBIA v SWITZERLAND each with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BRAZIL V COSTA RICA
1pm Brazil were very impressive in the first half in their opening game against Switzerland; although they still failed to get the job done when only managing a draw. That has to be a worry for their outright backers when they were so dominant; however they shouldn’t have the same worries today against Costa Rica.
On paper this should be an easy win for Brazil and the markets agree with the match odds at the time of writing trading; Brazil 1.23, Costa Rica 21.0 and the draw is 7.0. Doubts have been expressed about Neymar playing during the week after he was recorded leaving training injured – however we’ll just have to wait and see if he’s named in the XI or not; sometimes these rumors are a big bigger than the truth. We expect Costa Rica to put 11 men behind the ball and try to frustrate Brazil, they had plenty of chances to convert against Switzerland but failed to do so – we expect Brazil to win in the end however it could be a low scoring game; we like under 2.5 goals at 2.12 which looks far too big.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.12.

NIGERIA V ICELAND
4pm Iceland shocked everyone when holding Argentina to a draw in their first Group game; however after seeing their exploits at Euro 2016 maybe we shouldn’t be shocked! They have a great chance of winning now against this Nigeria team and that will give themselves an unlikely chance to qualify out of the Group.
We have a very open match odds market, with the odds at the time of writing currently trade; Nigeria 3.0, Iceland 2.8 and the draw is 3.2. Nigeria didn’t impress us in their performance against Croatia and if Iceland can put in the same work rate as they did against Argentina they will have a great chance here. We feel that Iceland should be a little shorter in the market and we’re happy to back them at 2.8. It should be a very close game but Iceland can edge it and the 2.8 looks very good value.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Iceland to beat Nigeria at 2.8.

SERBIA V SWITZERLAND
7pm Switzerland would have been absolutely delighted to get a draw against Brazil in their opening game and now they have a great chance of qualifying for the next round. It takes a bit of pressure off them coming into this game; however this will still basically decide who qualifies with Brazil so it’s a huge pressure game for both sides.
We have a very open market again though, with the match odds at the time of writing; Serbia 2.8, Switzerland 3.05 and the draw is 3.1. Serbia were impressive against Costa Rica when winning their opening game, while Switzerland were lucky to get a draw against Brazil – both sides didn’t look like they had a huge amount of goals in them so we expect this to be a very tight affair. Under 2.5 goals is trading as low at 1.56 though and it looks as if the value is gone on that bet. With both sides playing well but lacking attacking options; we like the draw here at 3.1 – we expect this to be a very close game and it’s worth considering backing 0-0 in the correct score market too at 7.8.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Draw at 3.1
