CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: We preview Tuesday’s Champions League games between MANCHESTER UNITED v JUVENTUS and SHAKHTAR v MANCHESTER CITY with recommended BETDAQ bets.
MANCHESTER UNITED V JUVENTUS
8pm Old Trafford will welcome an old face on Tuesday night as their best number 7 returns in the shape of Cristiano Ronaldo. He returns as he battles personal controversy; while Jose Mourinho is involved in more controversy on the touchline at the weekend. United were just about to win at Stamford Bridge only for a very late Chelsea equaliser and carnage between the camps on the touchline. United desperately need a big win soon and Mourinho would dearly love that to come tonight.
Juventus are favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Manchester United 3.25, Juventus 2.54 and the draw is 3.3. There’s no getting away from the fact that United have been very poor this season and won good half against Chelsea won’t change that. They have particularly struggled to score goals and create chances at home and it’s hard to see them winning against a side with the quality that Juve have. Juventus have had eight wins from nine games in Italy and if United can’t beat Valencia in this Group we can’t see them beating Juventus. The away side continue to impress and we expect them to outclass United – we’re happy to back them at 2.54.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Juventus to beat Manchester United at 2.54.

SHAKHTAR V MANCHESTER CITY
8pm Manchester City returned from the International Break with a 5-0 hammering of Burnley at the weekend and they will be hoping for more of the same here. After losing their opening fixture in this Group at home to Lyon they are under a small bit of pressure of results so that they can top the Group. They won’t fear this Shakhtar side; however they did lose to them in last years Champions League – but it’s hard to read too much into that as it was the final Group game and City already had it wrapped up.
City are heavy odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Shakhtar 8.6, Manchester City 1.38 and the draw is 6.0. Despite now being able to play at their actual home ground; their home form in the Champions League is very impressive – they beat Napoli, Roma and Feyenoord along with beating City themselves. City didn’t really impress them a hard fought 2-1 win over Hoffenheim and we feel that they are way too short here at 1.38. It’s tempting to lay the 1.38; however we feel that the handicap offers a lot more value. Shakhtar are trading 1.98 +1.5 goals on BETDAQ and that looks huge looking at their home form and City’s less than impressive performances in the Champions League this season.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Shakhtar +1.5 goals to beat Manchester City at 1.98.
