FFOS LAS OPENING NAP
12.40 Ffos Las Urbanist appeals as a Monday NAP, despite his absence of nearly 200 days.
He’s having his first start for Dr Richard Newland since joining from the Shane Nolan stable in Ireland and the crucial factor today is that he gets the testing conditions he devours. His sole career win came on testing ground at Punchestown and he has run some really big races since, including a narrow defeat at Fairyhouse and a close up fourth at Tipperary.
He arrives here isn good form and the Newland team have a good record with their new recruits.
Uno Mas ‘won’ at Fakenham last time out and is up in the weights but the five runner race ended up being match after three failed to complete and the form might not add up to much.
Live For Today was third here last time out but faded tamely and I can’t see why he will be necessarily suited by the step up in trip today,
3.35 Plumpton Simply Loveleh coped well enough with testing ground on her debut at Market Rasen and has since finished runner-up in bumpers at Uttoxeter and Huntingdon.
She’s no world beater but with the Skelton stable in such good form is hard to get away from the finale.
As usual, I will let prices decide as I don’t have much between her and Jackson Hill who was third at Sandown last time out.
Ishkhara Lady and Vinnie Rouge are both interesting newcomers who help make the market stand up.
7.45 Wolverhampton We all need a ‘Godsend’ the week before Christmas and hopefully the John Gosden trained Panmolle can help with some of the festive exes.
She was very disappointing at Kempton last time out but is worth another chance at this level and hopefully the first time blinkers wil prove a positive.
Simon Crisford’s Vow Of Presence was a modest third at Southwell on his debut but translating Southwell form to Wolverhampton is impossible.
