13-8 NAP PART OF DAQMAN’S WINNING TREBLE: Daqman landed three winners out of three for a Daq Multiples treble yesterday, which included his nap at 13-8. The hot trio:
WON 13-8 INSULT (nap)
WON 10-11 WONDERFUL CHARM
WON 3-10 LAURINA (Fortune Cookies go 641 points up)
BIG-RACE STATS AND FACTS FOR THE WEEKEND: Today Daqman checks out stats and facts for four big races of the weekend at Exeter, Fairyhouse, Fontwell and Newcastle. He’ll be taking on Pricewise again, 25-15 in front.
EIDER DOWN TO VICENTE
4.20 Exeter, tomorrow (Devon National) Winners have had similar ratings and, therefore, carried similar weights.
The four winners out of five since 2014 carried 11st 5lb, 11st 6lb (two) and 11st 7lb and were rated 124, 130, 127 and 125.
So check out a bet from those declared among Aurillac, Chic Name, Courtown Oscar, Jepeck, Johanes, Le Boizelo, Morney Wing, Skipthescales, West of The Edge, Zerachiel.
➡️ Sunshine and dry weather so expect good ground.
4.00 Fairyhouse, Saturday (Bobbyjo Chase) Willie Mullins, who won six of the last eight, left in only Pleasant Company and Grand National contender, Rathvinden, the NH Chase winner at Cheltenham who would be having his first race since the Punchestown Festival last Spring.
➡️ Whether Presenting Percy runs depends on rain
2.40 Newcastle, Saturday (Eider Chase) The last two winners of this, Baywing and Mysteree, who both carried 11st, could go again.
Don’t look higher than this weight mark (only one exception in recent years).
Two possible Irish raiders, Folsom Blue (Gordon Elliott) and Kilkishen (‘Shark’ O’Hanlon), have both been backed during the week.
➡️ Vicente runs instead of Wonderful Charm, who won yesterday.
2.50 Fontwell, Sunday (National Spirit Hurdle) Alumni include Lough Derg, Celestial Halo and Lil Rockerfeller, and both Lil Rockerfeller and Old Guard (2016 and 2018 winners respectively) are set to line up again but eight of the last nine winners have been under their age of eight.
If The Cap Fits…
PLUMETTE TO PLUNDER
3.35 Southwell Kadiz has the all-important course form factor which counts for so much here. She is a 12 time maiden but shaped well on her first start here at Southwell last time out when third to Point Zero.
I would’t normally be rushing in to back a 12 time maiden but the principal danger and BETDAQ favourite So Hi Speed looks very short in the market for a horse who has no experience here, is a 5 time maiden himself and has been off the course for 206 days.
I would have had Kadiz as market leader over So Hi Speed so the race plays itself in terms of a bet as I’m getting ‘overs’. Let’s just hope 13 is lucky for some.
4.00 Huntingdon Dan Skelton had a couple of winners at Ludlow yesterday and saddles two of the four runners in the class 3 Huntingdon feature.
Peppay Le Pugh, the mount of Harry, looks the chosen one over Holryale who is back after a break.
Peppay Le Pugh is a good ground specialist who won well at Doncaster last time out and I think he’ll give the favourite Clondaw Castle plenty to think about.
Clondaw Castle comes here on the back of an easy win at Leicester in a three horse race but has never, so far, achieved back to back wins.
8.10 Wolverhampton Hopefully saving the best until last on Thursday with a SUPERNAP recommendation in the final race at Wolverhampton.
I’m always wary of races with debutants but looking at the pedigrees and training patterns of both Masked Identity and Sharrabang I don’t think we have too much to worry about and the BETDAQ market reflects that with them priced at 31 and 45 respectively in the early exchanges.
Plumette is surely the one to be on after her excellent debut second at Newcastle where she made the odd-on Kareena Kapoor pull out all the stops and was only beaten half a length. The Richard Fahey trained runner was unconsidered at 25/1 in the market and for much of the race ran green but was staying on really well in the closing stages and tonight’s step-up to seven furlongs looks absolutely perfect.
Fahey hasn’t had a winner from 9 runners in the past two weeks but has had two seconds and a third and quite a few of his recent runners have started at big prices so I’m not too worried on that front.
The David Evans trained Twpsyn was a well beaten third at Chelmsford last time out but does bring experience to the table and might be the biggest danger in a race where Plumette really is a standout.
DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 20 points except NAP SP)
