SHAMROCK GALWAY PLATE DAY: SHAMROCK has two bets on Wednesday including in the big race of the week – the Galway Plate at 7.20pm.
Zero Ten landed the nap yesterday but it was quite a nerve-wracking watch given his starting price of 1/2. He got the job done well enough in the end and I am sure will come on bundles for his first start over fences.
Back at Galway on Wednesday and it’s Plate Day. Hugely competitive as always but Davy Russell is always a good man to have on your side in these big races and in Mengli Khan I think he has a very live chance.
He was a consistent and high class novice chaser last season, despite only having won once over fences and hopefully will see out the extra distance well on his longest start to date. He has experience in big fields and can hopefully give us a place return.
For the nap I’m sticking with Willie Mullins in the closing flat race. His Eight And Bob is developing into a decent stayer on the flat and can see off the challenge of Conron who is up in the weights after an easy Clonmel win.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Eight And Bob (8.30 Galway)
NEXT BEST: Mengli Khan (WIN AND PLACE) (7.20 Galway)
