WINNING NAP SATURDAY: SHAMROCK is back after a winning NAP on Saturday with Raven’s Cry (WON 8/11). His nap today runs at Downpatrick.
An early strike proved profitable in the first race at Killarney on Saturday with Raven’s Cry. She followed up her Galway win in comfortable fashion, staying on well to win by three and a quarter lengths.
I’m hoping the first race trick works again today at Downpatrick as I think the Willie Mullins trained Wendy Howell will take plenty of beating.
The five-year-old has the more experienced, but frustrating pair So Enjoy and Cats For Cash to beat in what looks a very modest race.
Wendy Howell hasn’t shown a lot herself in two bumper starts but did at least progress when 7th here earlier in the month and can hopefully show plenty more on her first start over hurdles for her top team.
