BIG VALUE OFFERS ON BETDAQ AT START OF CESAREWITCH MEETING: Daqman pounces on big outsiders today among very competitive fields at York and for the start of the Cesarewitch meeting at Newmarket, made trickier by soft ground and capped by the prestigious Fillies Mile two-year-old test. He took 26.0, 21.0, 20.0, 19.0, 17.5 and 16.0 on BETDAQ. Today’s headlines:

🔹 PINATUBO 24 POINTS BEHIND
🔹 GOLDEN GOOD VALUE AT 20.0
🔹 HOT HARRINGTON BUT 16.0
🔹 FRANNY BACK ON SANAADH
🔹 I LOVE THAT OFFER OF 6.4..
🔹 STALLS BOOST FOR 26.0 SHOT

DAQMAN LANDS WINNING SUPERNAP AS HIS PROFITS RUN AND RUN: Daqman landed his supernap, If You Say Run (WON 4-6), yesterday after a 9-1 winner on Wednesday. His nap today was 6.4 this morning yet trained by Aidan O’Brien.

PINATUBO 24 POINTS BEHIND!

Why buy a Cartier watch? They don’t know the time of day; at least not on the racing scene they don’t. It’s the latest from those crazy league tables again.

Cartier’s ‘Horse Of The Year’ has Magical on 168, Enable 152, and Waldgeist, who beat them both in the Arc, is on 120.

As for their top Two-Year-Old Colt, you may well be asking how far is Pinatubo in front of Earthlight? He isn’t. Earthlight is on 72; Pinatubo, who runs in tomorrow’s Dewhurst, is trailing on 48.

At the same time, Longines have as world’s best: Crystal Ocean, Enable and Waldgeist all on 128. Strikes me, the hour has come for these league tables to go and their promo people to think of better excuses for a presentation party.

GOLDEN GOOD VALUE AT 20.0

1.50 Newmarket (Cornwallis Stakes) Runner-up in both the Windsor Castle and the July Stakes, Platinum Star, twice a winner over 6f, should have enough pace for this, helped by the ground.

Lazuli is another likely to drop down a furlong without much trouble. Both his wins have been on the firm but Dubawis usually act on most surfaces and can take a sudden leap forward at any early stage in their careers.

Stuart Williams had a two-year-old winner yesterday with Via Serendipity and has booked James Doyle – already won on him – for Golden Dragon, who beat Kings Lynn at Windsor before that one won £147,000 in a big sales race at Doncaster last month.

Golden Dragon (BETDAQ 20.0) is not the biggest and, if I owned him, I’d want to put his precocity to good use. His sire, Starspangledbanner, is having a terrific season with his juveniles (witness Millisle).

HOT HARRINGTON BUT 16.0

2.25 Newmarket (Oh So Sharp Stakes) Roger Varian tries for three in a row in this with Stylistique., Though she’s a bit of a bridesmaid (form 32422), can’t argue that she must have improved half a stone on the last day to run Albany winner Daahyeh close in the Rockfel.

Final Song, third in the Queen Mary, was pipped a head by Daahyeh when they were placed behind Raffle Prize on the July Course.

Jessica Harrington’s plethora of fab juvenile fillies, including Millisle and Cayenne Pepper (3.35 today), has me worried with Valeria Messalina, of whom she says: ‘Big strong sort who really puts her head down and fights.’

Maybe just a benchmark for her on this day of top fillies’ trials but could be anything at 16.0 in the BETDAQ orange.

FRANNY BACK ON SANAADH

2.40 York Firmament is favoured by Danny Tudhope over Waarif, with Firmament’s form at York 41233214, though his win here in June followed 33 defeats in almost three years. He’s still down the handicap but now seven years old.

Alemaratalyoum is two years younger but his Goodwood win on heavy late last month has him back to a mark with which he struggled in the Spring. Mikmak is another heavy-ground winner but in a lower grade.

Though he doesn’t have the form in the book, Major Partnership was backed last night, with Saeed bin Suroor’s yard striking at around 40%.

Easy to back was Sanaadh (stayed on well over 7f at Goodwood) but Michael Wigham strikes are always hard to spot.

There’s an indicator here, in that Sanaadh’s last two wins were under Franny Norton, who is back in the plate today: 21.0 taken on BETDAQ.

I LOVE THAT OFFER OF 6.4..

3.35 Newmarket (Fillies Mile) Minding, Rhododendron, Laurens, Iridessa.. The last four winners of this juveniles test have been fillies who went to the very top as three-year-olds.

The daughter of Frankel, Quadrilateral (2-2) has looked exceptional, though nine-lengths winners have to prove themselves again: Pinatubo did; Mums Tipple didn’t.

Cayenne Pepper (3-3), saddled by Jessica Harrington, who has a couple of dozen two-year-old winners, is by Australia with the dam’s side going back to an Arc winner.

Anastarsia represents the all-conquering Gosden-Dettori team. Aidan O’Brien (three Fillies Miles in a row 2014-16) relies on the Moyglare winner, Love, who looks big at BETDAQ 6.4.

STALLS BOOST FOR 26.0 SHOT

3.50 York This handicap over the Ebor trip has never been won off 9st or higher but the Melrose winner over CD, Hamish is unexposed after only four races. He accounted for a solid favourite that day with strong Cesarewitch fancy, Land Of Oz, in third.

Elysian Flame was not disgraced, third at Haydock to another strong contender in the big race tomorrow, Ranch Hand. That ended the five-in-a-row sequence of Moon King, who was fourth (Mondain fifth, after trying to make all).

Ralph Beckett won this with an outsider a couple of years back, so keep an eye on Future Investment, also unexposed; trying a new trip after scoring twice with cut in the ground.

Harbinger and The Fugue – for John Gosden – were Dansilis who improved to Group-1 level, and Gosden’s El Misk, out of a Galileo mare, could be anything, stepped up in trip today.

Gosden also saddles Kosciuszko and Haggas also fields Space Walk, a royal runner who has won with cut in the ground and already placed twice at today’s trip.

Sir Michael Stoute, who trained Harbinger, runs a son of Frankel, Deal A Dollar, yet another trying a new trip. It’s a very hard race and the edge may lie in the draw.

Stalls 5 and 6 have won all four runnings of this, and 6 beat 5 in that Melrose won by Hamish, who is now in gate 9 with, on his inside, Deal A Dollar (4), Holy Kingdom (5), Space Walk (6), Mister Chiang (7) and Elysian Flame (in 8, blinkered for the first time).

The high numbers will find it hard to set sail up the middle from the final bend which is why El Misk is 19.0 in the BETDAQ orange. I’m told he has a bright future, and Hamish has to be opposed at shorter than 2-1 this morning.

The ones from a favoured stall at a weight preferred by the stats and with their stables in hot form are Space Walk (BETDAQ 26.0) and Future Investment (offered at 17.5 out of stall 2).
