22.0 BETDAQ BET WAS NECK SECOND IN CORAL SPRINT: Daqman’s bid to go 1,000 points up on Pricewise was lost in the last few yards of the Coral Sprint yesterday when Gulliver just travelled the better and won by a neck from Hyperfocus (2nd 16-1 from 22.0 taken on BETDAQ). Today is another day, with the Irish Cesarewitch and the Munster National.

PINATUBO A REAL RACEHORSE
Look at the head to head again! You’ll see that Pinatubo puts his head down, stretches his neck forward, his will to win triumphant in the Dewhurst yesterday. Arizona’s head goes up. He’s not wanting it that much.
Yes, Pinatubo won the National Stakes at the Curragh nine lengths but, with Ballydoyle attacking on four fronts on bad ground yesterday, this was his finest hour, the Aidan O’Brien team finishing second, third, fourth and fifth.
For me, that’s more satisfying than the Frankel domination 10 years ago when he only had to stay sound and destroy the same horses with his speed.
Pinatubo has determination and he has mind. We can’t say he is the perfect thoroughbred; he’s not that big and doesn’t have the wow factor.
But the show-off teenager has already matured; he’s now as professional as Enable at a very young age, with the same personality trait, the will to win. I prefer a racehorse (the operative word is ‘race’) to a freak.
SAGLAWY HAS A BIG FUTURE
4.25 The Curragh (Irish Cesarewitch) The Ladbrokes Hurdle and the Hattons Grace were mentioned after Saglawy returned from a 258-day break and won easily on the soft at Listowel last month.
He absolutely bolted up, so why not stick to the Flat for now and have a crack at this £59,000 Cesarewitch. BETDAQ 5.5 taken.
Gavin Cromwell also interrupts Lever Du Soleil’s hurdles and chase career (form figures 2042) to revert to the Flat (1111), where his four-timer was all on a sound surface.
Davids Charm (second) and Nessun Dorman (fourth) finished in the frame when this Cesarewitch was run at Navan last year, and you have to take a close look at the three-year-olds, who have won this four times since 2010.
Connections warned that quality-bred 11-12f winner Royal Aide would improve for further. The same yard runs the Frankel colt, Eminent Authority, fifth on the soft in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot.
Noel Meade, who tries two second-season animals, reckoned 13.0 offer Red Gerry unlucky at the Galway Festival and he’s booked Chris Hayes.
INTERNAL LOVES LIMERICK
4.35 Limerick (Munster National) Spider Web and Black Scorpion, winner and third last year, are back for more but the stats say that – as with so many handicaps these days – younger horses are taking over.
Six of the last seven winners of this Munster National were aged six and seven, but that puts the focus on just two horses in today’s renewal: Cabaret Queen and The Big Lense.
The pair were first and second at Listowel last month in their prep for today in a race half a mile shorter and on good ground, with The Big Lense scoring again since and up a total of 16lb, as he goes for the hat-trick today.
Local-trainer Eric McNamara puts more sting in Scorpion’s tail by utilising 7lb-claiming Conor McNamara, and booking Robbie Power and Danny Mullins for stablemates Internal Transfer and Gwencily Berbas respectively, giving himself a formidable trio.
Internal Transfer’s form at Limerick is 111, hurdles and fences. He was fourth in the Kerry National at Listowel last month on his only attempt at 3m, well beaten by Midlands National winner No Trachtalai Abu, who it was split Spider Web and Black Scorpion in this Munster version a year back.
Gwencily Berbas was a moderate sixth when The Big Lense beat Cabaret Queen over shorter at Listowel in September.
Assuming the ground stays very soft, there are doubts about The Big Lense, No Trachtalai Abu, Movewiththetimes, Cabaret Queen and Snugsborough Benny.
It will favour Internal Transfer, Nambour, Spider Web and Progress Drive, on his first run for Gavin Cromwell.
Progress Drive (BETDAQ 12.5) goes well fresh, while Internal Transfer (4.3 favourite) usually wins on his second run, including here over hurdles in the Spring of 2018 and over fences last December.
THE NAP: I hope that by the time Internal Transfer runs, his stable will be off the mark with Owl Creek Bridge (3.25). Despite a Points career which included success over 3m, Eric McNamara’s six-year-old was kept to around 2m until suddenly stepped back up in trip to on his home course on soft ground.
After his Listowel comeback, Owl Creek Bridge was well backed this morning to do the trick again, but I managed to grab 4.9 on BETDAQ
