PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s Premier League matches with recommended BETDAQ bets and extended match stats. The action starts at 2pm with CRYSTAL PALACE v LEICESTER followed by EVERTON v SPURS at 4.30pm.
CRYSTAL PALACE V LEICESTER
2pm We haven’t quite got a massive Super Sunday this weekend, but we do have two very interesting fixtures. We start with Crystal Palace hosting the high flying Leicester. Palace managed to come from two goals down last weekend against Arsenal and they will be delighted with how their season is going. They have come up short against the likes of Manchester City and Spurs, but to sit in 6th heading into this weekend is superb. Leicester have outdone them though as they sat in third position and with them playing some excellent football – the dressing room will have hopes of a Top Four finish.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Crystal Palace 3.65, Leicester 2.22 and the draw is 3.55. Leicester have been on fire recently and we like them to win here at 2.22. It’s hard to believe that they were a bigger price to win against Southampton prior to the 9-0 victory but the 2.22 offers value here. Palace have been solid this season, there’s no doubt about that, but they have come up short against sides who can create those magic moments in attack. Leicester have been playing some superb football this season, and they can continue their winning run here.

- Crystal Palace have won their last four Premier League meetings with Leicester by an aggregate score of 13-1 – in their top-flight history the Eagles have only ever won five in a row against Wimbledon (1989-1991).
- Leicester have lost four of their seven Premier League away games against Crystal Palace, failing to score in each defeat. However, they’ve never lost away at Palace in the competition when they’ve found the net (W2 D1).
- This will be Crystal Palace’s fourth Premier League game in a row against a side starting in the top five of the table – the first side to have done so since Wolves in November 2010.
- Leicester’s last away game saw them record the biggest ever away win in English top-flight history (9-0). However, the Foxes have won just one of their last 14 Premier League games in London (D6 L7).
- Crystal Palace haven’t lost back-to-back Premier League home games since March. They’ve won 53% of their Premier League points at Selhurst Park this season (8/15), compared to just 41% last season (20/49).
- Leicester haven’t won away on a Sunday in the Premier League since April 2016 (2-0 at Sunderland), drawing three and losing six since then.
- Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha has scored in each of his last three Premier League games against Leicester. He’s scored four goals in total against the Foxes, more than he has vs any other side in the competition.
- Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew has scored four goals in his last eight Premier League games, more than he had in his previous 32 in the competition (3). However, only one of his strikes this season have come at Selhurst Park.
- Following his hat-trick at Southampton last time out, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy is the top scoring Premier League player this season coming into this round of matches (9). His nine goals have come from just 20 shots in total, giving him a conversion rate of 45%, the highest of any player to have had at least 10 attempts.
- Four of James Maddison’s five goal involvements for Leicester in the Premier League this season have come in away games (2 goals, 2 assists).
EVERTON V TOTTENHAM
4.30pm This is a fascinating fixture. Both sides are having very poor seasons by their own standards, and a win for either side would be massive. It would certain ease some pressure on management anyway. Spurs problems are well documented but looking at them playing Liverpool at the weekend; one wonders do they have too many players not interested? Some want to leave, some have personal issues, some are rumoured to be fighting – there’s a lot going on and it’s showing in the football that they are playing. Everton have been poor this season, and it remains to be seen if they can take advantage of an under-par Spurs.
We have a very open market with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Everton 2.86, Tottenham 2.64 and the draw is 3.65. Everton have won their last two homes game against Watford and West Ham, both with a scoreline of 2-0. They have really struggled away from home, and sitting in 16th coming into this weekend – they need to pick up points. Spurs started this weekend in the bottom half of the table – a sign of how bad they have been and with Everton having home advantage we’re happy to lay Spurs here at 2.64. We just feel that’s ten ticks too short – Everton are far better at home and they can get a result here against a Spurs side who just aren’t playing for each other at the moment.

- Everton have lost their last two home league games against Spurs by an aggregate score of 2-9 (0-3 and 2-6). They’ve never lost three consecutive top-flight home games by a margin of 3+ goals against an opponent before.
- Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League games against Everton (W7 D6), their joint-longest such run against the Toffees in the top-flight (also 13 between 1997-2003).
- Tottenham and Everton are facing each other in a Premier League match with both sides starting the day in the bottom half of the table for the first time since April 2004, when David Moyes’ Everton beat David Pleat’s Spurs 3-1 at Goodison Park.

- Christian Eriksen has scored in each of his last four Premier League appearances for Spurs against Everton. He’s scored five in total against the Toffees in the competition, only against Swansea (6) has he netted more.
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored three goals in his last four Premier League games for Everton, though he’s ended on the losing side each time. Indeed, Calvert-Lewin has lost each of his last four Premier League games in which he’s found the net – only Heidar Helguson in April 2000 and Mohamed Diamé in October 2012 have lost five consecutive games in which they’ve scored.
