4/5 WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK struck again with a NAP yesterday – Real Steel his only bet of the day who won the Daily Mirror Chase at Down Royal at an SP of 4/5.
Real Steel ran out an impressive 14 length winner of the Daily Mirror Chase at Down Royal yesterday to land the SHAMROCK NAP at 4/5.
Elsewhere on the card, Envoi Allen made a very pleasing debut over hurdles – winning by an eased down six and a half lengths and later in the afternoon Road To Respect came out best of the Gigginstown runners to land the Ladbrokes Champion Chase – seeing off the challenge of the Paul Nicholls trained raider Clan Des Obeaux.
The biggest headline however was made overnight when the Joseph O’Brien trained Iridessa won the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf at Santa Anita. Wayne Lordan was again onboard and she ended up being the only European trained winner at whole meeting.
Good racing on both codes today at Naas on the flat and it’s Cork Grand National Day.
Willie Mullins has eight of the remaining 15 runners in the November Handicap at Naas including the top four in the market but sifting out the best of his, let alone the whole race, is too big a jigsaw puzzle for me.
For the NAP I’m going with Lakemilan in the closing maiden at 4.20. She was winner at Cork over fences when last seen out and although a beaten favourite when last seen on the flat, she should appreciate the much more testing conditions today.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Lakemilan (4.20 Naas)
