PREMIER LEAGUE SUPER SUNDAY: We preview Sunday’s Premier League action with recommended BETDAQ bets and extended match stats. It’s ARSENAL v CHELSEA, LIVERPOOL v WOLVES and MAN CITY v SHEFFIELD UNITED.
ARSENAL V CHELSEA
2pm What a way to start a Sunday afternoon of Premier League action! Arsenal host Chelsea in a big London Derby for both clubs. Unfortunately for them it’s not big because they are chasing a title like in the past, but both sides have problems. Chelsea have lost a huge amount of ground in the race for a Top Four finish in recent weeks but because the others have been poor too; they still sit in fourth. While Arsenal aren’t even in the top ten – who said it would be better without Wenger?
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Arsenal 3.0, Chelsea 2.42 and the draw is 3.9. Both sides had disappointing results on Boxing Day with Chelsea losing at home to Southampton and Arsenal only drawing with Bournemouth away from home. Obviously Chelsea’s result was very surprising, especially after they beat Spurs 2-0 before Christmas! Chelsea have lost to Southampton, Bournemouth and West Ham recently so while Arsenal have been woeful this season, it’s hard to have confidence in Frank Lampard’s men either. On balance, given how many goals both sides have conceding this season we’re happy to avoid the match odds market and back over 2.5 goals at 1.62. There’s bound to be plenty of drama and chances created in this one!

- Arsenal have won two of their last three Premier League home games against Chelsea (D1), as many as they had in their previous 12 against the Blues (D5 L5).
- Chelsea lost this exact fixture 0-2 in January – they’ve not lost consecutive league games against Arsenal since October 2011, while they last lost back-to-back away league games against them in October 2003 (a run of three).
- Arsenal have never lost a Premier League home game against Chelsea when they’ve scored the first goal, winning 11 and drawing four of their 15 such games.
- Arsenal lost their final league game of 2018, 1-5 against Liverpool. They’ve not lost their last league game in consecutive calendar years since 1994/1995 (vs QPR and Wimbledon).
- Chelsea have only lost their final league game in one of the last 16 calendar years (W11 D4), going down 1-3 at home to Aston Villa in 2011.

LIVERPOOL V WOLVES
4.30pm It’s been a good week for Liverpool. They have basically already won the Premier League! It’s hard to believe after waiting for so long, they are going to win the title in this style. They are undoubtedly the best team in England at the moment and put a rubber stamp on that with a 4-0 thrashing of their closest rivals Leicester on Boxing Day. Manchester City lost again on Friday night, and we might not see Guardiola choose to extend his contract now. Klopp has won that battle. It was Wolves who beat City, so while we expect a tough evening for Liverpool; they should win again.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Liverpool 1.32, Wolves 12.5 and the draw is 5.9. Liverpool have a good record against Wolves, they have made Anfield a fortress in recent seasons and their playing some excellent football this season. It’s nearly impossible to see them lose a match at the moment – it’s reasonable to suggest they could go the whole season unbeaten. They are unbeaten in their last 49 home Premier League games! We expect them to cover the handicap here and they are trading 1.9 -1.5 goals which looks massive.

- Liverpool have lost just one of their 10 Premier League games against Wolves (W7 D2), winning the last five in a row by an aggregate score of 12-1.
- Wolves have lost 15 of their last 17 top-flight away games against Liverpool, winning the other two, 1-0 in January 1984 and December 2010. Wolves have failed to score in 10 of their last 14 league visits to Anfield.
- Liverpool have won their final league game in each of the last five calendar years, since losing 1-2 at Chelsea in 2013.
- Wolves have won their final league game in four of the last five calendar years, losing 1-2 at home to QPR in 2016.

MANCHESTER CITY V SHEFFIELD UNITED
6pm Manchester City suffered another loss on Friday night away to Wolves. They may have been a man down, but they did lead 2-0 and it’s just another dent in their confidence this season. They just haven’t been good at the back, and it remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola will stay on next season now. Maybe he has had enough. Sheffield United weren’t able to get the job done against Watford on Boxing Day but they have been fantastic this season and we should see an open game here.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Manchester City 1.25, Sheffield United 14.5 and the draw is 7.2. Manchester City will more than likely get the job done here, but the 1.25 is far too short. Sheffield United have been playing an attacking brand of football and given how poor City have been at the back – we expect Sheffield United to at least score. Both Teams To Score looks massive at 2.0 given how short over 2.5 goals and over 3.5 goals are trading. City will likely outscore Sheffield United here, but we expect to see a very entertaining game!

- Sergio Agüero is Man City’s highest Premier League goalscorer in home games this season with five goals, this despite the Argentine not finding the net at the Etihad since November 2nd.
- Sheffield United’s David McGoldrick has had more shots (34) and shots on target (16) without scoring than any other Premier League player this season. He also has the highest expected goals total of any player not the find the net (6.1).
