CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TUESDAY: We preview Tuesday’s Champions League games between ATLETICO MADRID V LIVERPOOL and DORTMUND v PSG both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATLETICO MADRID V LIVERPOOL
8pm The Champions League finally returns and what a cracking way to kick off the Last 16! Atletico Madrid play host to the current European Champions and Premier League Champions Elect as Liverpool come to town. Liverpool are now 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League and they will be able to focus on the Champions League from now on. They can very easily win the trophy again given their position in the Premier League and the quality that they have in their side. This isn’t an easy place to come and win though, and perhaps Klopp would shake on a draw tonight.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Atletico Madrid 3.75, Liverpool 2.26 and the draw is 3.4. Liverpool are very short to qualify – they are trading 1.33. A scoring draw would be an ideal result for Liverpool, they have made Anfield a fortress in recent seasons so they just have to not lose the tie tonight. They have been excellent on the counter-attack this season, and Atletico can’t afford to be too adventurous tonight. With that in mind we can only see a cagey affair here to start with and we like under 2.5 goals at 1.69 which looks the best option.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.69.

DORTMUND V PSG
8pm PSG are in a similar position to Liverpool in that they are clear at the top of their domestic competition – however they only have a ten point lead compared to Liverpool’s 25! Perhaps a side of Liverpool’s complete dominance this season. Given the quality, or lack of, in the French League the acid test for PSG is always how well they do in the Champions League. They have had their moments in recent years but they have also crumbled under pressure. They threw it away against Manchester United and Barcelona in recent years and Dortmund will be hoping that they can dump PSG out here.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Dortmund 2.96, PSG 2.4 and the draw is 4.0. Much like Liverpool, PSG are quite short to qualify and are trading 1.39. They would probably take a draw here and get back to Paris, but as we seen against Manchester United home advantage doesn’t mean PSG won’t crumble. On paper, both sides are packed with goals but with this being a first leg, we might not see either side go all-out attack. PSG can play a more defensive game here and Dortmund are usually excellent in front of their own fans. On balance, we feel PSG at 2.4 is at least ten ticks too short and we’re happy to lay the away win.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay PSG at 2.4.
