CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: We preview Wednesday’s Champions League games with a recommended BETDAQ bet. It’s LIVERPOOL V ATLETICO MADRID and PSG V DORTMUND both kicking off at 8pm.
LIVERPOOL V ATLETICO MADRID
8pm What a fixture. European Nights at Anfield are always that bit special, but this one is massive. Liverpool got back to winning ways at the weekend here against Bournemouth. It wasn’t without drama though as they went behind and won 2-1. Any goal conceded here would be a big blow given the situation obviously, but Liverpool have been excellent here for a number of seasons now. Anfield is a fortress, and it will be fascinating to see how Atletico shape up.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Liverpool 1.61, Atletico Madrid 7.2 and the draw is 4.0. Liverpool were poor in the first leg, but Atletico have always been a strong force at home and now it’s a big ask for them to stop Liverpool. We have to say though that the 1.61 on the home win is far too short here. Liverpool haven’t been at their best in recent weeks and although Anfield is always a tough place to come and get a result, we fully expect a closer game than odds of 1.61 suggest on Liverpool. From a value point of view, we have to lay the home win. What a brilliant game for the neutral fan though, don’t miss this one!

PSG V DORTMUND
8pm Dortmund take a 2-1 lead into this tie after the first leg, and PSG have work to do. Usually PSG have been winning first legs and throwing away the lead! Now they have to battle hard at home to try and get a win. On paper, this one screams goals. PSG have to score, and Dortmund will no doubt be excellent on the counter attack – we could see a crazy scoreline here! However, a lot of people would have said that about the first leg and we only saw three goals. Over 2.5 goals is only 1.4 tonight!
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; PSG 1.7, Dortmund 4.8 and the draw is 4.7. PSG had their game postponed at the weekend, and they will be fully prepared for this clash. In their three games prior to that, they scored 13 goals; however they conceded four too. Dortmund have won their three games since beating PSG, and two of those came away from home. On balance, we have to lay PSG at 1.7 here – much like Liverpool in the other fixture; we just can’t see the game reflecting those short odds. It’s set up for Dortmund to score on the counter all night here, and we’re very happy to lay PSG at 1.7.
