CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews the Champions League quarter final on Wednesday between ATALANTA v PSG with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ATALANTA v PSG
8pm It’s Quarter Final time in the Champions League and we have a fascinating fixture to start! Atalanta finished third in Serie A and their xG was reasonably impressive, indeed many football fans see them as the best team in the league. Juventus lifted the trophy but their xG was terrible and it wasn’t a surprise to see the manager sacked after getting knocked out of the Champions League.
PSG completed another domestic treble this season although their season was cut short with COVID19. They already had it won however, and it’s fair to say that they are the only show in town. The Champions League will always be their biggest test and they could lack a competitive edge heading into this one with no recent league fixtures. Although they did have the Coupe de France final recently.
PSG are missing some key players heading into this tie. Although the rumours leading into this week have said Mbappe is back in training and could make a comeback a lot sooner than expected. That would obviously change a lot, but it seems unlikely he will be able to play the full 90 minutes and PSG are also missing Di Maria who is suspended.
Atalanta hammered Valencia in the last round winning 8-4 on aggregate and this fixture screams goals. Atalanta have given up an average of two goals per Champions League game and PSG games have been generally high scoring in the Champions League. The PSG lay at 2.12 is very tempting with their players missing and they have also rode their luck at the back in this competition. They have only conceded 4 but xG says you can double that and then add some.
Of course the PSG lay is an option, but I believe the best value bet here is over 2.5 goals at 1.6. I’m surprise to see the price as high as 1.6 with these two teams. Both play a very open game and Atalanta play some excellent attacking football while leaving gaps at the back. You could say the same about PSG too. Overs for me is the call.
