GROUP RACE ACTION AT THE CURRAGH: SHAMROCK previews the Debutante Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday. One of two Group 2 races on the card.
The Group 2 A.R.M. Holding Debutante Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon (3.45pm) looks an O’Brien benefit with the top three in the BETDAQ market being trained by Donnacha, Aidan and Joseph. They have five of the eight entries between them.
Preference has to go to Shale (Donnacha) who has already proved herself in Group company when winning the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown last time out. It was a good effort and she should again account for Pretty Gorgeous who finished in second.
Mother Earth is only 2lb behind Shale on official ratings but she was a little disappointing here last time out when third of four (at even money) behind Aloha Star.
A bigger danger today may come from her stable companion Snowfall who although was only fourth to Shale in the Leopardstown race, is probably better than that bare form would suggest.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
