EUROPA LEAGUE THURSDAY: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews the pick of the Europa League games with a recommended BETDAQ bet. Spurs, Leicester, Celtic, Arsenal and Rangers are all in action.

ROYAL ANTWERP V TOTTENHAM
5.55pm Another intriguing night of Europa League action awaits! We kick off the evening with Royal Antwerp hosting Spurs who have been putting together a pretty good run. They have had plenty of drama, including a 3-3 draw to West Ham when they lead 3-0 at HT and traded 1.01 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! The hosts put in an impressive display last week against Ludogorets, but we have to factor in how many levels these sides are below Spurs.
Looking at the xG numbers, I think Mourinho will be in trouble if Kane and Son stop performing but for the time being they are on fire. I don’t think much has changed with Spurs from last season; however when Mourinho gets the dressing room fully behind him he can do incredible things. With Spurs in great form and more importantly scoring, and playing nice attacking football, now is a good time to back them. They look good value at 1.56 to start the evening.

AEK ATHENS V LEICESTER
5.55pm Much like Spurs, Leicester have been given a very straightforward Group and if last week was anything to go by they should be topping this Group with ease. Indeed, the plan should be to win all the early games and then rest players once they have top spot confirmed. They grinded out a nice win over Arsenal at the weekend, really and truly it should have been a draw, but they played with confidence after winning 3-0 last week in this competition.
Looking at how AEK Athens played, and defended, against Sporting Braga last week it might be a long night for Athens! Of course they might be more settled at home, but I can’t see them having the defensive capabilities to stop this Leicester side. I’m very surprised to see Leicester as big as 1.75 having seen how Athens played last week, and what a gulf in class there is between the sides. The 1.75 is a confident bet, although not a max bet.

LILLE V CELTIC
5.55pm Celtic have another tough evening ahead as they travel to take on Lille. While Celtic were unlucky to lose 3-1 to AC Milan last week looking at the xG numbers, the overall signs are that Celtic have been struggling this season. They lost the Old Firm Derby 2-0 to Rangers before losing AC Milan and then could only manage a 3-3 draw against Aberdeen at the weekend. They have played one less game than Rangers, but they already find themselves six points behind them in the Scottish Premiership.
On the other hand, Lille have had a really positive start to their season in France. They actually sit in second after eight games, and that’s only on goal difference as they have the same amount of points as PSG. They haven’t been beaten, with five wins and three draws. They ran out impressive 4-1 winners against Sparta Praha last week, and they look good value here at 1.67. Celtic are usually better at home compared to away, but right now seems a good time to be against Celtic with this in-form Lille side.

ARSENAL V DUNDALK
8pm Arsenal are the shortest price of any Europa League side tonight, and this is a real David v Goliath situation! Dundalk are coming from a very low level as they play in the League of Ireland which has quite a low standard; however they have been on a remarkable journey even reaching this stage. They play some good football, for their level, and it will be interesting to see how they get on against a club as big as Arsenal. It’s highly likely that we’ll see a lot of players rested for Arsenal, however it’s still extremely difficult to see anything bar an Arsenal win.
Dundalk are a whopping 13 points behind Shamrock Rovers in the Irish league this season as they sit in third. Arsenal are trading 1.07 at the time of writing, and who can blame the markets given the gulf in class between the sides. Even allowing for Arsenal resting players, it should be one way traffic here. Any Other Home Win is worth a small bet in the Correct Score at 2.0.

RANGERS V LECH POZNAN
8pm We finish the day with Rangers hosting Lech Poznan hoping to continue their excellent start to the season. They got off to a flying start last week with a 2-0 win away to Standard Liege and they are six points ahead of Celtic already in the Scottish Premiership, although they have played one fixture more. They won the Old Firm Derby impressively and they have an excellent chance of adding another three points to their Europa League total tonight. Lech Poznan were involved in a crazy 4-2 loss against Benfica last week, in a really open game!
Lech Poznan actually created a lot of chances, but they looked pretty poor at the back and it’s hard to see them stopping Rangers from scoring a couple of times. Rangers have been impressive going forward this season, and they have also been pretty solid at the back. They can stop Lech Poznan, while taking advantage of the Lech Poznan defence. I’m happy with the 1.55 on the home win.
