FRANKIE IS A 15.5 BETDAQ ANGEL AS HE WINS FOR DAQMAN (SP 12-1): Daqman landed a double on the Ladbrokes card at Lingfield yesterday when he napped Sorrel, Sir Michael Stoute’s improver, to successfully turn over the Aidan O’Brien favourite, Elizabathofaragon, and he joined the upset of an even-money favourite when John Gosden and Frankie Dettori scored with a 12-1 shot, which he tipped at 15.5 on BETDAQ.

Yesterday: Profit on the day: 23.35
WON 3-1 SORREL (nap)
WON 12-1 INDIE ANGEL (from 15.5 on BETDAQ)

TODAY: Daqman hopes to land an early nap at Down Royal to pay for some flirting with outsiders there and at Wetherby.

TOMORROW: Big-race dates with the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal, Autumn Gold Cup at Ascot and Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby .

QUEEN OF THE CRACKING NOVICES

⭕ 1.15 Down Royal Gordon Elliott must be breathing a sigh of relief with no sign today of Willie Mullins, who has won this opener four years out of six.

That seems to let in Elliott’s mare Queen’s Brook, third in the Cheltenham Champion Bumper and who made all in her maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse three weeks back. Around evens on BETDAQ this morning.

Politesse had Lorna Fowler talking about the Hattons Grace after the Don Poli relative had scored at Thurles, though I noticed the runner-up was trained by Elliott, and that he’s gone on to make his mark over much further, so was probably beaten for speed that day.

Brave Way also won over further in her Kilbeggan maiden, so maybe the main danger is 10-1 shot Anna Bunina, whom I punted at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Her Lartigue second at Listowel pumped her rating up 11lb to 131. She was not fluent at Cheltenham, which can happen to any horse there, and the winner, Botox Has, will surely move into the big time, now reckoned a 146.

It’s only six days since she made those Cheltenham errors but it’s the right thing to do to return her to a right-handed track with easier obstacles and restore her confidence.

⭕ 1.50 Down Royal In theory, Abacadabras, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle runner-up, can kick these out of the way, with a couple of weeks to go before the Morgiana.

But Noel Meade, who has won the race six times, saddles some live ammunition in Sixshooter, already a winner this month as part of a 111 sequence at Punchestown.

⭕ 3.00 Down Royal Another odds-on shot, surely, for the chasing debut of Envoi Allen, unbeaten in eight starts, including the Ballymore.

Abacadabras and Envoi Allen are likely to be so short both would have to win to make supernaps or Fortune Cookies worthwhile at this stage. I decided when I compiled the Cookies that I’d rather watch and see how they get on.

JUST IN CASE IT’S CASEY AGAIN

⭕ 3.35 Down Royal (Ladbrokes Handicap Chase) Top trainers Gavin Cromwell (Lever Du Soleil) and Gordon Elliott (Diamond Turf and Timoteo) will have to get up early to catch Francis Casey in this.

Somehow Casey’s small string has managed to scoop the race two years running with Eight Till Late and Ar Eagla Na Heagla (just in case).

Ar Eagla Na Heagla is back again today, 6lb higher in the ratings, to bid for the stable hat-trick so, just in case it’s Casey again, I advise you to have your pound or euro on.

I’m on the case to find something to beat him, starting with Henry De Bromhead, who has also won the race before.

Rachael Blackmore was doing the steering when Henry’s Email Rose won his maiden but he’s failed to reach the frame since, including beaten favourite the last twice.

Timoteo, twice a winning chaser for Alan King and now with Gordon Elliott, hasn’t been seen since pulling up at Kempton nearly a year ago.

Scheu Time opened his account over fences at Galway by beating Bridge Native at the beginning of the month (Diamond Turf behind). Not much between them at the revised weights.

Gavin Cromwell had one just in front of Ar Eagla Na Heagla in last year’s race when falling after the last, giving the winner around a stone. But Lever Du Soleil seems to need around 2m 4f over fences.

I’ll take Timoteo to bounce back with the change of stable at 4.6 on BETDAQ but can’t resist that pound on a Casey hat-trick at 9.4.

BILLY IN FORM AND NO KIDDING

⭕ 1.35 Wetherby My man in the long grass insists that William H Bonney is set for a new lease of life; he is headed for a career over fences, and this could be his final hurdles appearance: 6.4 taken in BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

⭕ 2.10 Wetherby Brian Ellison, who has won this 19.5f Listed chase twice in the decade with a seven-year-old, saddles Nietzsche up in trip at the same age in today’s renewal.

He’s been placed in five chases out of six (two wins) over shorter and, as a Greatwood winner at 2m over hurdles, looks a hidden horse here.

Huge at 24.0 on BETDAQ, Nietzsche gets 12lb from the market leader, Two For Gold, who is a Grade-2 novice-chase winner and runner-up.

Born Survivor, Happy Diva and The Unit are all nine-year-olds now but Born Survivor took this in 2018 and is going for a third consecutive Listed win. Happy Diva won the Autumn Cup at Cheltenham a year ago

⭕ 2.45 Wetherby (Wensleydale Juvenile Hurdle) Usually brings quality to the table, and Gordon Elliott sends across two unbeaten over hurdles.

Longclaw (82 on the Flat) held on only narrowly at Listowel on the last day, and little Duffle Coat is bred for further.

Soldier On Parade beat Hiconic 12 lengths in completing a hat-trick for Amy Murphy at Market Rasen and already has a 136 hurdles rating.

A 12.5 offer on BETDAQ, Midnights Legacy reached 90 as a dual winner on the Flat, a rating which equates to 135 over hurdles, and trainer Alan King admits to being ‘excited’ about him.

⭕ 3.55 Wetherby Another top-class novice hurdle won by the calibre of Kalashnikov (2017) and by Alan King with Gone Too Far (2013).

J P McManus, who also has runners at Down Royal and Uttoxeter, has 7.4 BETDAQ offer Heart of A Lion (King) as the potential upset to Dan Skelton’s Champion Bumper fourth Third Time Lucki.
