We kick it off with Osasuna hosting La Liga new boys Huesca.
It would be fair to say that Huesca have started their La Liga campaign in reasonable form. It’s easy to look at them in last position in the table and write them off, but they have had six draws from nine games with two of those loses coming against Real Sociedad and Real Madrid. They have been unlucky not to record a win too, having to settle for a 1-1 draw against Eibar when winning the game 2.78 to 0.90 on xG and getting a 0-0 against Elche when creating an xG of 1.82 compared to 0.19.
It will be very interesting to see how Huesca get on against this Osasuna side, because Osasuna are a rock solid mid-table La Liga side since coming up. Realistically, they won’t be against else, and they have started the season in a similar vein of form as last season. Looking at their xG, everything is going how you would expect it. Outclassed by the likes of Atletico Madrid and Sevilla but picking up wins against the likes of Cadiz, Celta Vigo and they were unlucky not to beat Eibar.
I think Osasuna are rightly favourites, but Huesca have shown enough to suggest that they can get a result here. You’d have a very good ROI backing the draw in Huesca games with six wins from nine and I’m happy to have a small investment on that very bet here at 3.2. Huesca create enough to score while Osasuna aren’t the type of side to blow them away like Real Madrid and Real Sociedad have.
