5th T20 INDIA v ENGLAND: Our cricket tipster The Edge previews Saturday’s 5th and deciding T20 between INDIA v ENGLAND with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MATCH OVERVIEW
After an excellent T20 series, it all comes down to the 5th T20 on Saturday in Ahmedabad with the series level at 2-2. It’s a shame there will be no fans for what should be another superb match, but there’s nothing anyone can do about that. BETDAQ Betting Exchange users get to enjoy 0% Commission on this series decider, and hopefully we have a thrilling match!
This will be the seventh game between the sides at this ground in a row, after two Test matches and four T20’s. Conditions changed again on Thursday however as we had dew and the scores went much higher. Kohli noted afterwards the difference the dew made, and we could see another 185ish score with more dew today. That was the first close game after three one sided games, and as I have been saying right throughout the series – there isn’t much between the sides. England captain Eoin Morgan said the team who plays the best cricket on the day wins and it’s hard to argue with that, albeit a fairly straightforward opinion.
Both sides look in good form, and India did well to win on Thursday with Kohli not scoring. Yadav was the star man with 57 off 31 balls, but the openers still need to hit form and get them off to a good start. England have no real excuses; a lot of their star men got in and then got out. Roy, Bairstow and Stokes all scored 25 or more but didn’t reach 50 and that was the difference. All things considered we should have another excellent game!
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
As I said above, it’s the seventh game here and we are still slightly guessing what conditions to expect. Batting has been very tricky at times, and the pitch has looked slow and low. Then we saw a lot of carry which surprised the teams, and then we got dew on Thursday which obviously makes batting easier and bowling a lot more difficult. Dew is clearly a massive factor, and you’ll just have to watch out for that when the game starts – that will change the scores dramatically. If there was no dew, I would favour bowling first anyway so it’s an easy decision for the captains at the toss.
RECOMMENDED BET:
We came out on the wrong side of a close game on Thursday with our England bet, but I’m happy to back them again today at 2.14. I thought at the start of the series there wasn’t much between the sides and I haven’t seen anything to suggest otherwise. In fact, I’d suggest England have performed better than expected – especially with their bowling. I know they conceded quite a few runs on Thursday but there was dew and their batting line-up is incredibly strong. Their batters look in good touch too; they just need one of them to go past 50 and win the game. I have no problem backing England again here at 2.14.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
The in-running strategy can change a lot here based on what kick of conditions we get. If we get dew again I would expect to see big scores and I would focus my trades on the batting team. I know England came up short on Thursday, but they have the batters to move the market in the right direction for you. Even though Stokes didn’t make 50, he batted at a strike rate of 200 – I’d be happy to support him again and especially Roy and Buttler. The Indian middle order proved very strong again, even without Kohli scoring and their weakness seems to be the openers at the moment.
A lot of strategy will have to be decided based on what the pitch does. I feel whatever conditions you get, I’d be keen to favour the team batting first. When the pitch was tricky, bowling first was an advantage while if we get dew bowling will be difficult and you wouldn’t mind chasing anyway.
