CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Real Madrid v Chelsea, the first Champions League semi-final, with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL MADRID V CHELSEA
8pm The Champions League Semi-Finals kick off on Tuesday night and we have blockbuster fixture to get us underway! This is obviously a huge game, but both sides are also fighting in their domestic leagues with Real Madrid dropping points at the weekend but Atletico Madrid lost so they actually gained ground, and Chelsea are battling hard to hold onto their top four spot. Real games are usually packed with goals and drama, but they have had three 0-0’s in their last four games!
Chelsea games have also been short of goals, with a 0-0 and three games with only one goal from their last four games. With this being a first leg, I can’t see either team going into the game in attack mode and I fancy we will have a slow start. That could present a lot of trading opportunities on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, for example trading the draw or under 2.5 goals. Indeed, even as an outright bet I couldn’t put anyone off the draw at 3.25 or under 2.5 goals at 1.7.
I can see this being a very cagey affair, and I’m happy to back 1.7 on unders. Real played out a very even game at the weekend with Real Betis and you can’t really say they are focused on the Champions League because they can still win La Liga – they are only two points behind Atletico after the weekend. Chelsea might have only beat West Ham 1-0, but they actually played much better than the result with an xG of 2.31. Brighton managed to hold them to an xG of 0.85 prior to that and they didn’t create many chances against Porto either.
Real had a pretty open game when they were at home against Liverpool, but at the same time Liverpool gifted them a 2-0 lead and the second leg finished 0-0. Looking at the match odds, if you didn’t fancy the draw you would lean towards Real Madrid at 2.4 as they look the better side on paper but I can’t see past under 2.5 goals at 1.7 here. I can understand why punters want to back overs with the attacking talent on show but this game screams a slow start and unders to me. Neither side have to play attacking football and neither have been banging the door down with goals recently either. I’d have unders much shorter and it’s a confident bet for me.
The Ultra Says:
Four points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.7 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange
