WEDNESDAY LA LIGA: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews SEVILLA v VALENCIA and ATLETICO MADRID v REAL SOCIEDAD both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
SEVILLA V VALENCIA
6pm It’s another superb evening in La Liga! After what was billed as a block buster weekend at the top of La Liga, Barcelona drew with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid drew with Sevilla so the top four remain in the same position. Atletico play later tonight which is a huge game, and Sevilla look certain to finish fourth so that’s definitely the bigger game today. Valencia have more or less nothing to play for, although they would love to move up the table a little after what has been a tough season. Sevilla suffered a setback when losing against Athletic Bilbao recently, but they actually created more chances and were unlucky to lose. They have been finishing the season in rock solid form, and should win tonight.
Valencia went into their game at the weekend on a winless run, but they ran out 3-0 winners against Real Valladolid. They were a little lucky looking at the xG figures as the game wasn’t that one sided on the stats, however Real Valladolid are really struggling this season and are right in the mix to go down. I wouldn’t read too much into that, and Valencia have been conceding a lot of chances in general lately. You can’t concede a host of chances against a side like Sevilla, because they always give you nothing. They like to keep things tight at the back and catch sides on the counter. You could see an open game here because neither side “have” to get a result really – Valencia are sure to stay up, and Sevilla are sure of top four. I feel a small play on Sevilla is the way to go as 1.5 looks too big to beat a side like Valencia.

ATLETICO MADRID V REAL SOCIEDAD
9pm A fascinating fixture! No doubt all eyes will be on this one on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, as Atletico Madrid face another night under pressure at the top of La Liga. I have to say I was surprised to see Atletico get a result against Barcelona at the weekend, as Barcelona had been playing much better football recently. They would have been delighted with how the weekend panned out though. Now they have another reasonably tough fixture against a solid Real Sociedad side who can put in some excellent performances. The one thing you’d say about Sociedad however is that they can be an up-and-down side – they could easily create an xG of 3.14 or concede the same! Atletico games haven’t been too open lately, and you’d expect similar tactics here.
Looking at the match odds, it’s tempting to lay Atletico at 1.63. I feel that’s ten ticks too short, but the bet that really catches my eye is under 2.5 goals at 1.81. I know Sociedad can play an open game, but Atletico won’t give them the chance to do that tonight. Atletico haven’t been scoring goals for fun lately or indeed creating a lot of chances. They have been grinding out games, and it’s hard to see them changing tactics. You can see that they are under pressure in the title race, and I expect another very cagey game here. I’d happily lay Atletico at the odds, but unders is my best bet here as it jumps off the page at 1.81.
