TODAY: Daqman confronts Pricewise with analysis of the Irish big races of Cesarewitch at the Curragh and Munster National at Limerick. THE NAP is at Goodwood.

TOMORROW: Daqman’s wrap on the two-year-old races. COUNTDOWN to British Champions Day next Saturday.

BENAUD TAKES STRIKE: BETDAQ 11.0

⚠️ HEADS UP Anything you can do.. J P McManus has four in the Munster National today, but can he do better than Willie Mullins, who had six in the Newmarket Cesarewitch and was run out of it close home by Nicky Henderson’s lone starter, Buzz?

⭕ 3.05 The Curragh (Irish Cesarewitch) J P McManus may already have a big winner before his assault on the Munster National.

Benaud, trained Joseph O’Brien, is a big horse who has improved race by race as he’s matured and gained in experience. Not yet tried beyond the 14 furlongs of the Queens Vase but clearly with the potential for it.

Willie Mullins, who has won this Cesarewitch three times in six seasons, has four and a reserve, including his last winner, Royal Illusion (2019), who was third in the November Handicap last autumn and has won his maiden hurdle this year.

Aidan O’Brien has had three two-year-old winners in the last 14 days; otherwise he is 0-41, with SPs revealing that nothing was expected of them: 12-1 (three times), 14-1, 18-1, 20-1 (twice), 22-1 and 25-1 among them.

So right now I need persuading that National Ballet can do the business after an absence since July; the positives are that he has won after a break and suggested the last day that he needs this step up in trip.

On the other hand, he’s been favourite three times and won only once as market leader, and that when it was very soft.

Unlikely to improve at the age of seven, Turnpike Trip has never won this high in the handicap and hasn’t put two wins together on the Flat for four years.

The unexposed mare Monas Melody could have a big future. Bred from Derby winners – by Ruler Of The World out of a Dylan Thomas mare – and reckoned likely to leap forward over long distances.

BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE 11.0 Benaud and 11.0 Monas Melody

STREET WISE AND DIFFERENT CLASS

⭕ 3.55 Limerick (Ladbrokes Munster National) The old-firm battle is renewed: Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliottt have shared four of the last five winners of this, and have two runners each today.

The 17f chase winner, Aramax (Elliott for McManus) was third in the Galway Blazers (2m 6f+) but was hampered and pulled up on his first try at 3m, the Kerry National, when third favourite. The freegoing Top Moon fell in that race and blinkers are tried today.

The overnight gamble, Ontheropes (Mullins) has placed in chases at Gowran and Fairyhouse, running on each time as if today’s trip is what’s wanted. But has won only a maiden hurdle and, at 7.0, is five points too short on my pricing up.

Cavalry Master has been a progressive novice and, after four in a row, tries handicapping for the first time, and with an obvious chance.

On the other hand, the handicapper has been brutal to Fairyhill Run, hiking him 28lb for two chase successes. Were they that good? We’ll find out today.

The CD winner Chatham Street Lad returns from a long holiday. He won when fresh in the same month last year and then landed a nice double of the Mallow at Cork and the Autumn Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

It would be unusual for anything over the age of eight to win this and to give weight all round has not been done in the decade but he could be different class.

BETDAQ value 13.5 Aramax and 7.4 Chatham Street Lad

BOY! GOODWOOD FIVE FROM SEVEN

⭕ 2.55 Goodwood Atalanta’s Boy is 1101101 at Goodwood, two of them in class 2, including over CD six weeks ago. Weight is easily carried by a sprinter getting into rhythm down the Goodwood hill.

Trainer Charlie Fellowes won this last year but will have to improve on his current 1-17 strike rate to get me to put money on something like Beauty Choice, a rare winner, even in lower grades.

Silent Flame’s form figures are 12132, just failing – by less than a length in each of her last two starts – to climb from class 4 to class 2. This is bang-in-the-middle class 3 and she has strong claims.

Silent Flame was beaten half a length, receiving 18lb, by Gale Force Maya on the last day; the same winner gave 5lb and a four-lengths beating to Lovely Breeze.

BETDAQ value 5.9 Atalanta’s Boy

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
