LA LIGA MONDAY: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Monday’s game between ESPANYOL v ELCHE including a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ESPANYOL V ELCHE
8pm Monday night football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange in Europe comes from La Liga as Espanyol host Elche. Espanyol are cruising in mid-table, but every game is massive for Elche given the situation at the bottom of the table. They started the weekend just outside the bottom three in 17th but there really isn’t much in it. They actually have the same amount of points as Alaves – although Getafe above them have put a good run together, and they look like they will stay up now. They were in trouble, but they even managed to beat Real Madrid recently.
Espanyol are a very up-and-down side, and although they are your classic mid-table La Liga side, Elche will look at this fixture as a good chance to collect three points. Espanyol have won three and lost three from their last six, which pretty much sums them up really! Despite Elche’s position in the table, there’s reasons to be optimistic here. They have created xG figures of 1.41, 1.64, 1.60, 2.15, and 1.54 recently. They aren’t amazing figures, but they are consistent and if Espanyol have an off day, Elche will take full advantage.
While Elche are producing consistent xG figures at the moment, Espanyol aren’t – they have created figures like 2.25, 0.36, 2.39, 0.49, 0.43 and 1.36. As you can see, very up-and-down and they seemingly have no consistency. They have had a decent record at home this season, but they have had a couple of lucky results lately. They beat Levante, Real Sociedad and Granada while conceding a higher xG than they created, and they also drew 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao while conceding an xG of 3.77!
I know Elche are a very limited side, and it’s obvious that Espanyol should be favourites. However, the underlining numbers suggest to me that Espanyol are too short here at 1.88 and they are worth laying from a value point of view. Elche are playing decent football coming into this game and they are creating enough to get a result. I fully accept Espanyol can put in a performance to blow them away, but at the same time they have had some shockers recently too. I feel a two point lay on the home win is the value call here, in what should be a pretty close game.
The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Espanyol to beat Elche at 1.88 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange!
