SALUTE DAQMAN 4-TIMER: 131 POINTS: Saturday-king Daqman landed every winner – four out of four – in a big-race bonanza of two 50-point bull’s-eye hits and two for 20 points, including a 15-8 nap (Knight Salute) to go back to back with yesterday’s 9-4 best bet. It took him further clear of Pricewise (32-17 winning bets for 86.02 points profit).

DAQMAN’S FOUR IN A ROW
ONE, two, three, four! The prices got better and better as the Daqman winners poured in; four from four, strictly big races only.
✅ WON 15-8 KNIGHT SALUTE (Adonis Juvenile Hurdle) Daqman forecast: ‘Knight Salute has shot 7lb clear in the ratings; Impulsive One’s Scottish Triumph Hurdle was a piece of opportunism by Nicky Henderson.”
Knight Salute left clear after the last; Impulsive One (7-2) soon weakened, seventh.
✅ WON 11-4 ALENQUER (Winter Derby) Daqman forecast: ‘I don’t think the race has seen an Alenquer before, and I don’t think Team Gosden expected to see him either; they hoped for the £62,000 prize to be gifted to Lord North.’
Alenquer ridden to use his stamina, kept on strongly; Lord North (6-5 fav) gave chase two out; no extra, second.
✅ WON 11-2 WIN MY WINGS (Eider Chase) Daqman forecast: ‘Back to form; unexposed, cheekpieces fitted, Ryan Mania rides.’
Win My Wings, 8.3 on BETDAQ, five lengths clear last; kept on. Friday ante-post preview ‘Arise and go to Innisfree’ (Innisfree Lad 3rd 25-1)
✅ WON 13-2 CAP DU NORD (Kempton Trophy) Daqman forecast: ‘Cap Du Nord down a stone since fifth last year; Kittys Light back to better ground with Brian Hughes booked.’
Cap Du Nord, 9.8 BETDAQ, led two out, ridden out to beat Kittys Light (2nd 16-1) held up in rear; chased winner three out, stayed on.
BREWIN’ UP THE DOUBLE
⭕ 2.50 Fontwell (National Spirit Hurdle ABC guide) Provided Champion Hurdle winners in Comedy Of Errors (1976-77) and Baracouda (2001) but also names we knew and loved like Bird’s Nest (1979), Corporal Clinger (1987), Lady Cricket (1999), Loch Derg (2008-9) and Lil Rockerfeller (2016).
Allmankind Just starting back after flopping in the Peterborough Chase in early December and, for the third time in a row, this 164-rated chaser returns to hurdling for lift-off (previous results hurdling after a break: 333). Best hurdles form as a juvenile.
Botox Has Three out of four in 2019-20 but beaten by Allmankind. Back to place form, stepped up to 3m handicaps at Cheltenham. Could set a strong pace if trying to use his stamina.
Brewin’upastorm Top rated with 158 but also top weight – shared with Guard Your Dreams – because Grade-2 winner of this very race last year, so now has to give 3lb and 6lb to most.
His concession of 6lb to Darver Star over a trip similar to today’s in heavy ground at Lingfield didn’t stop him staying on to win by more than a length.
He had been impressive at Aintree in November and that’s where we are likely to see him next. He is not entered at the Cheltenham Festival.
Darver Star Lays Logic says raiding Irish trainer Gavin Cromwell (currently 1-36) has been going through a lean spell, similar to that of Paul Nicholls, and it says that, when William Henry won in 2020, also 10 years old, he was the first winner of that age in 35 renewals of the race.
Thirdly, if you take away Darver Star’s success at Punchestown, he hasn’t another strike to his name in 10 outings, chase and hurdle, and came off a line and bumped Brewin’upastorm when trying to tackle him at Lingfield.
Guard Your Dreams Came to prominence by winning the International Hurdle at Cheltenham in December but the form has not worked out and, despite his consistency, has to find 12lb with the favourite.
Monmiral Won the juvenile at Aintree last Spring and his return in the Fighting Fifth was marred by hanging (subsequently found to be lame). He is bred for today’s step up in trip, but Paul Nicholls’ stable is very in and out, though has raised its 7% strike rate to 15% after Pic d’Orhy yesterday followed up one or two minor winners in the week.

WALK IN THE PARK …
⭕ 4.40 Hereford One of the more competitive races on Sunday’s cards and Walkinthewoods is taken to improve on his FFos Las handicap debut.
He ran much better than his 25/1 price tag indicated finishing second suggesting the handicapper might well have underestimated his ability. It’s easy to see why, given that, apart from a good run in a Stratford bumper, the penny hasn’t really dropped until now.
NOT GOING SOUTH
⭕ 4.50 Fontwell Mount South looks a little skinny for my liking in the closing bumper. He switched stables to Ian Williams having made a promising debut at Navan on yielding ground when an unconsidered 40/1 shot but it’s possible he was flattered by his proximity to the two market leaders and he also finished in front of a 100/1 shot. He should improve but the Williams yard are 0-11 and you are paying a short price to find out.
At the prices (as always) the bet could be Halondo who was fourth on his debut at Huntingdon in a race that so far hasn’t been boosted subsequently (however, the winner Crambo has yet to reappear and holds an entry for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham).
It was heavy ground that day at Huntingdon and I fancy Halondo will be much better suited by the good to soft forecast conditions here.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
